Management of ovarian cysts

Background.u2002 The treatment of an ovarian cyst relies on its nature, and accurate preoperative discrimination of benign and malignant cysts is therefore of crucial importance. This study was undertaken to review the literature concerning the preoperative diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cysts.

Lymphadenectomy in surgical stage I epithelial ovarian cancer

To identify the extent of lymphadenectomy performed in women presenting with epithelial ovarian cancer macroscopically confined to the ovary. Furthermore, the effect of lymphadenectomy on overall survival is evaluated.

Meningismus as main symptom in toxic shock syndrome.

A case of toxic shock syndrome (TSS) with meningismus as main symptom is presented. The case illustrates that, in cases of rigidity of the neck and back, not directly explainable, TSS should be considered as a possible diagnosis. Toxic syndrome ITSS) is a severe, acute infectious disease with great variations in symptornatology (1,2). Its lethality is approximately 5% (3). The prognosis depends on early diagnosis and treatment.
