Conceptual Design of Product & Asset Lifecycle Management System for Marine Structures During Middle of Life

Recently, both the integration of product data during design and production and the effective management of information during full lifecycles have attracted attention from shipyards and ship owners as a result of recycling regulations and a desire for efficient operations. Generally, PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) supports a collaborative environment during the BOL (Beginning of Life) stage, while an ALM (Asset Lifecycle Management) system provides all of the information required to maintain, overhaul, and discard/recycle all or part of a vessel during the MOL (Middle of Life) and EOL (End of Life) stages. The main goal of this paper is to suggest the fundamental configuration of a PALM (Product Asset Lifecylce Management) system and a method that can be used to utilize a marine vessels lifecycle information during the MOL, emphasizing the maintenance information during the middle of life. The authors also suggest a PALM system configuration in which lifecycle information can be collected by a PEID (Product Embedded Information Device) integrating a microcomputer, sensors, and wireless network communication. Through a prototype PALM system, the suggested features and PALM system configuration are implemented.

Pseudo-standard and Its Implementation for the Maintenance Data of Ship and Offshore Structures

Product lifecycle management (PLM) is expected to encompass all the product data gen-erated for the operation and maintenance information as well as the design and production. Thispaper introduces a data exchange schema in PLM of ship and offshore, serving as the basis forthe role of standards required by the middle-of- life PLM. Also this paper identifies a typologyof standards relevant to PLM that addresses the schema of evolving standards and identifies aXML schema supporting the exchange of data related with maintenance operations. Technicaldocument based on standards in accordance with S1000D and Shipdex is explained. A casestudy illustrating the use of standard data exchange and technical document is presented. Multimedia visitor book using mobile phone

We introduce a new multimedia visitor book that collects the pictures from visitors using a mobile phone via Bluetooth and generates a photo-mosaic to be displayed to all visitors. The background image of the photo-mosaic is that the multimedia visitor book uses consists of a specific image of a museum, company logo, gallery or any forms of advertising strategy. In detail, visitors upload their own picture that is in a mobile phone or a picture taken when participating in an exhibition as the basis of the collective artwork in the photo-mosaic generated. The multimedia visitor book is displayed through a projection onto a large screen adding the new visitors as they upload their pictures. As opposed to the traditional visitor book which is an analog form recorded by pen and paper, our proposed multimedia visitor book uses digital technology and interactive with all visitors. Our system adapts the flow of period using digital equipment, proposed a paradigm fit into digital period and it also extend not only to visitor book but also to various services such digital book and mobile art.
