Glass as a building material is quite used nowadays. In the Czech Republic, the glass is still considered only as a filler material; therefore assessment of them in terms of statics is difficult. This paper deals with the issue of designing of sheet of glass of railing in the Czech Republic. This article describes the process of bending tests of multilayer glass of comparable thicknesses and analyzes its behavior in terms of safety and maximum load.

Problematic of optimizing the selection of a suitable building material for reconstruction in the Czech Republic is a frequent topic. The paper reviews the methodology of multi-criteria evaluation of partition walls for the following criteria: the mechanical-physical, technological, economic, but also ecological. The multi-criteria evaluation methodology can be used at an early stage of construction, in the decision process of selecting the most suitable material variants for designing interior non load-bearing walls.

Implementation of the ventilation ducts is one of the ways how to reduce the moisture in the vertical masonry structures. Functional ventilation ducts provide air inlet and outlet, which absorb diffusing moisture from the rehabilitated walls in these ducts. This causes the reduction of moisture in the structure. The implementation of the ventilation ducts is associated with the worsening of thermal parameters of the rehabilitated walls. This paper compares three variants of structural solutions of ventilation ducts and their impact on thermal parameters of the rehabilitated structure.

Glass facades are significantly affected by the internal microclimate, and because of their use in this way it is necessary to use the secure elements of glass facades. For this purpose, safety multi-layer glass is used, which should fulfil its function after the failure of their integrity. This article describes the experimental destructive tests that indicate the behaviour of multi-layer safety glasses, depending on the thickness of the individual layers of the glass composite. A part of the article is the analysis of the cracks of broken elements depending on their thickness.

Current requirements for energy savings lead to improve heat insulation properties of claddings. That is the reason why thermal insulation properties are improved in existing buildings, such as additional insulation of the building envelope and replacing filling holes in the facade. The reason for the implementation of the glazing of these areas is the idea of improving the indoor climate of the living space. It is assumed that condensation of water vapor and occurrence of moulds on inner surface of the structures can happened in certain conditions of indoor air.

Article deals with the issue of mold in masonry structures. Attention was focused on the critical detail at expansion joint. Variants of solved detail are focused on the process of surface temperatures in the structure. This detail needs to be solved because of revitalization of the structure. Isotherms of the critical inner surface temperature and dew point temperature were used for the evaluation of the variants.

The presented article deals generally with the use of architecture to the propagation of the ideas and the use of structure of space for propagation of power influences of one group at the expense of another group. The use of architecture to the propagation of ideology lies in the tendency to shape ideologically acceptable space. Space is shaped so the world should be seen in accordance to the ideology and not to the reality. Architectural styles are specific for certain communities that are separated by land, culture, and time. Morphology is associated in architecture with a certain cultural epoch. The article focuses on the use of architecture in propaganda of one totalitarian system - socialist realism, which is typical in the Czech cultural environment in 1948 – 1958. The architecture of socialist realism should promote sociability of people. The aim was to demonstrate the power of unity of collective and nothingness of human individuality. A few examples of basic elements and characters in the architecture of real socialism in Ostrava are mentioned in the conclusion of the article.

This paper deals with the comparison of the effect of the contact thermal insulation in the connection of the loggia slab to the stair wall of construction panel system T 06-B produced in Prefa Olomouc. Measurements took place in two panel houses, where parameters of internal and external air were measured. The thermally insulated building is compared with the untreated building. The temperature factor at the internal surface, which eliminates the boundary conditions of the measurement, was used as a comparative element. The measured values were statistically evaluated.
