Methods for the preparation of coal-tar pitch

P. N. Kuznetsov; L. I. Kuznetsova; F. A. Buryukin; Elena Nikolaevna Marakushina; Vladimir Frizorger

The production of tar pitches and binding agents for the manufacture of high-quality carbon materials is considered. The progressive scarcity of coal-tar pitch is noted. The necessity of a search for new sources of raw materials and alternative methods for the production of coal-tar pitch substitutes is substantiated. The capabilities of different methods for the thermal and thermochemical processing of coals with the production of pitch-like products are considered. The prospects of a low-temperature process of the thermal dissolution of coals under mild conditions for the preparation of pitch products in a yield much higher that the yield of pitch upon coking are demonstrated.

Thermodynamics of ferrocene dissolution in water-methanol solutions

V. A. Fedorov; V. E. Tetenkova; P. V. Fabinskii; A. V. Fedorova; F. A. Buryukin; V. P. Tverdokhlebov

The polythermal solubility of ferrocene in water-methanol solutions in a wide range of their compositions was studied. Ferrocene solubility grows as temperature and methanol content increase. Thermodynamic functions of ferrocene transfer from water into water-methanol solutions were calculated. The results obtained were compared with the data on neon solubility in the same solvent.

The Solubility of Acetylferrocene and Diacetylferrocene in Dimethylsulfoxide and Its Mixtures with Water

F. A. Buryukin; V. P. Tverdokhlebov; V. A. Fedorov; E. V. Tetenkova; A. V. Fedorova; O. O. Azanova

The solubility of acetylferrocene and diacetylferrocene in mixtures of water with dimethylsulfoxide was determined as a function of temperature and mole fraction of the organic component. Changes in the thermodynamic functions in the transfer of acetylferrocene and diacetylferrocene from water into a mixed solvent were estimated and analyzed.

An Experimental Study of the Effect of Nanoparticle Additives on the Rheological Properties of a Suspension

A. V. Minakov; E. I. Mikhienkova; A. L. Neverov; F. A. Buryukin

The results of an experimental study of the rheological properties of clay-particle suspensions with additions of silicon-, aluminum-, and titanium-oxide nanoparticles are given. The concentration of particles in solutions ranges from 0.25 to 2 wt %. The particle sizes are in the range from 5 to 100 nm. The dependences of the effective viscosity and rheological parameters of these solutions on the concentration, size, and chemical nature of nanoparticles are established.

Thermal Dissolution of Coking Coals in the Anthracene Fraction of Coal Tar

P. N. Kuznetsov; S. M. Kolesnikova; L. I. Kuznetsova; F. A. Buryukin; N. V. Perminov; E. S. Kamenskiy; N. I. Pavlenko

The thermal dissolution of two samples of 1GZhR and ZhR coal in the anthracene fraction of coal tar is studied. The yield of quinoline-soluble products increases considerably in the temperature range of coal softening. Optimal thermal-dissolution conditions are determined for selective production of quinoline-soluble pitch-like products. At 350–380°C, the yield of quinoline-soluble products is 70–73% after 1–2 h. The yields of the distillate fraction and the gas are 0.9% and 0.2%, respectively. The ash-free pitch-like product is a plastic mass with a softening temperature of 76–81°C. It consists mainly of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons with a few short alkyl substituents in the aromatic rings. The spatial structure mainly includes poorly structured polycyclic aromatic molecules of the γ component. The proportion of relatively ordered graphitelike packets is 31–37%. Each packet contains five stacked polycyclic aromatic molecules of diameter 17 Å. In terms of its composition and plasticity, the product is suitable as a source of alternatives to coal pitch.

Improving the Reliability of the Plant Production of Sulfur

Evgeny A. Chumakov; Roman A. Vaganov; F. A. Buryukin; Dmitry A. Mel’chakov

The experience of modernization of the production of sulfur by the Claus at JSC «Achinsk Oil Refinery of E. O. C.». The measures for replacement of the contact device sulfur trap, the enrichment of air with oxygen in the thermal stage of the process. Activities under taken on modernization of production of sulfur allowed to increase output (granulated sulfur), to reduce the load on the main and auxiliary equipment installation, ensure smooth operation ofthe installation.
