It’s evaluated the corrosion of 304 stainless steel and steel 1018, embedded in elaborated specimens of concrete on the basis of norms ASTM C470-87 and C192-81. Were elaborated concrete of ration a/c, 0,45 and 0.65 . The specimens were exposed 66 weeks in two aggressive means, solutions to 3,5% of NaCl and 3,5% of Na2SO4. The evaluation was made by the technique of Resistance to the Polarization (Rp), measurement of the corrosion potential (Ecorr) in agreement norm ASTM C-876-91. The results far beyond demonstrate a resistance to the corrosion of steel 304 in both means the one steel 1018.

The effect of three curing methods (immersion, waterproof membrane and steam) in the corrosion rate of reinforced concrete beams, w/c ratio of 0.40 and cover thickness of 4 cm, are exposed in synthetic water (ASTM 1141-98) during a total of 180 days. The corrosion rates are obtained by linear polarization (LPR) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). According to the obtained results, curing methods that they maintain a mayor time the wet state in the concrete have a best performance in the resistance to the corrosion.

Se estudiaron concretos adicionando ceniza volante, micro-silice y escoria de alto horno, el objetivo fue determinar cual de las mezclas presenta mejor comportamiento como proteccion contra la corrosion del acero. Se prepararon seis mezclas y se construyeron celdas de concreto donde se le adiciono el 20% con respecto al peso de aditivos, con dos varillas embebidas en la mezcla como electrodos y fueron expuestas a una solucion de NaCl (3.5% en peso), durante ocho meses se monitorearon con tecnicas electroquimicas. La mezcla que mejores caracteristicas obtuvo fue la que contenia 10% ceniza volante y 10% escoria de alto horno

In this work, corrosion of reinforcing steel in concrete beams exposed to two environments was evaluated. The two environments used were: drinking water (white) and salt water (5% NaCl sol.) for 18-months. The concrete had a water/cement ratio of 0.40 and 0.60, respectively. Monitoring was carried out by measuring macrocell voltage and current, with open-circuit potentials and electrochemical noise. The results presented more probability of corrosion in beams immersed in salt water with higher water/cement ratios and reaching the system a state of passivation. The macrocells were very useful for analyzing the corrosion system and correlated electrochemical techniques.
