An improved swarm intelligence algorithm, named SA-CGA, is introduced briefly in the paper. The algorithm, which is a chaos-genetic hybrid algorithm with a new random number generator using the mixed congruential method, searches goal value using genetic algorithm in global space when population diversity is bigger than given value, while resolves optimal value utilizing chaos algorithm as population diversity decreases to some threshold automatically. Uncertainty of solution is solved well with the mixed congruential method. The performance of the algorithms is analyzed and compared with other methods. The result shows its convergence precision is high and its convergence velocity is fast.

To be examined the reinforcement mechanism of deeply buried piles, series of large scaled model test has been carried out. Several testing tools including rigid load cells, the earth pressure cells are employed to measure the pressure received by deep buried piles and the slope thrust of the slope on piles top. On the basis of the variation process of measured data, the time and the location of slide surface in the slope is determined, and the maximal anti-sliding force upward to the piles top could be gained. Then the failure form process is analyzed as the anti-sliding length of the piles changed. The relationship between the sliding force received by the piles and that supplied by the slope on piles top is analyzed to supply scientific demonstration for the design method of slope reinforced by the deeply buried piles.

Based on seepage mechanics in porous medium gas and heat transfer theory, numerical early warning model is established, which is on quantitative description of migration and release of landfill gas and penetration and diffusion of energy, and dynamic migration of landfill gas is also analyzed quantitatively. The results show that the gas pressure improved as the depth increased, and internal gas pressure in landfill maintained at 1~3Kpa. The heat generated by the degradation of landfill gas is released, and its distribution range is between 10m and 15m, and it is also effected by biodegradation of waste and distribution of gas. The temperature is changed dramatically at the middle of landfill, which is in accordance with distribution law of gas pressure and temperature in the field monitoring. The numerical results which are reliable and practical are verified. It can provide technical support on the control of potential environmental pollution caused by landfill gas, the design of landfill gas collection system and development of gas resource.
