Nucleophilic Addition of Potassium Alkynyltrifluoroborates to d-Glucal Mediated by BF3·OEt2: Highly Stereoselective Synthesis of α-C-glycosides

A convenient, mild and highly stereoselective method for C-glycosidation (alkynylation) of D-glucal with various potassium alkynyltrifluoroborates, mediated by BF3x OEt2 and involving oxonium intermediates, preferentially provides the alpha-acetylene glycoside products with good yields.

Stereoselective Nucleophilic Addition of Potassium Alkyltrifluoroborates to Cyclic N-Acyliminium Ions: a Simple and Mild Approach to Chiral 5-Alkyl-pyrrolidin-2-ones

The stereoselective nucleophilic addition of potassium alkyltrifluoroborates to cyclic N-acyliminium ions derived from N-benzyl-3,4,5-triacetoxy-pyrrolidin-2-one, which affords 5-substituted-pyrrolidin-2-ones, is described. The products are obtained in moderate to good yields and are produced predominantly as the anti diastereomer.

Matrix Metalloproteinases 2 and 9 and E-Cadherin Expression in the Endometrium During the Implantation Window of Infertile Women Before In Vitro Fertilization Treatment

Objective: To evaluate the expression of endometrial matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) 2 and 9 and E-cadherin in peri-implantation phase of infertile women who have undergone in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles. Methods: This prospective study included 51 patients who underwent endometrial biopsy during the receptive phase in a menstrual cycle prior to IVF treatment. The samples were evaluated by tissue microarray for immunohistochemical study. Results: The expression of MMP-2, MMP-9, and E-cadherin in the endometrium prior to IVF treatment was not associated with pregnancy. There was a decrease in E-cadherin immunodetection, the higher the age of the patients, a negative relationship between E-cadherin and MMP-2, and a positive association between MMP-9 and E-cadherin. Conclusions: The MMP-2, MMP-9, and E-cadherin are expressed in the endometrium of infertile patients during the receptive phase of the natural menstrual cycle. However, there is no correlation between the expression of these molecules and the clinical IVF outcomes.

1-Benzyl-2,5-dioxopyrrolidine-3,4-diyl diacetate.

The pyrrolidine-2,5-dione ring in the title compound, C15H15NO6, is in a twisted conformation with the acetyl C atoms projecting to opposite sides of the ring. The acetyl groups lie to opposite sides of the five-membered ring. The benzene ring is roughly perpendicular to the heterocyclic ring, forming a dihedral angle of 76.57 (14)° with it. In the crystal, molecules are connected through a network of C—H⋯O and C—H⋯π interactions.

Addition of Amino Acids to oxopyrrolidin compounds

INTRODUCTION Amino acids are building blocks of proteins. G. J. Mulder first discovered protein in 1838. He described that proteins are most vital among ever known organic substances, without which life cannot sustain. Amino acids are very many in number but among them 20 are found in human body. Our group has been working in oxopyrrolidin compounds [1, 2]. So, addition of amino acids to oxopyrrolidin has created great interest. For nucleophilic addition of nitrogen of amino acids as nucleophiles, we have generated N-acyliminium ions. BF3 generates Nacyliminium ions, which play an important role in the reactive intermediates for the nucleophilic addition to form nitrogen heterocycles. For this purpose, we have added more than 10 amino aicds successfully. Here protection of amino acids, formation of oxopyrrolidin compounds, generation of Nacyliminium ions, addition of amino acids and deprotection of amino acids is presented.

One-Pot, Three-Step Reaction of 5-[(Trimethylsilyl)ethynyl]pyrrolidin-2-one with Azides Catalyzed by Cu-I: Synthesis of a Novel Class of 1,4-Disubstituted 1,2,3-Triazoles

A very fast, easy and efficient synthesis is described for a novel and biologically important class of 1,4-disubstituted-4-(5-pyrrolidin-2-one)-1,2,3-triazoles by an ultrasound-assisted one-pot, three-step click reaction sequence of 5-[(trimethylsilyl)ethynyl]pyrrolidin-2-one with organic azides mediated by catalytic CuI salts.

Preservação da fertilidade: a importância de oferecer esta possibilidade às pacientes com doenças neoplásicas

, as estimativas para o ano de 2010 previam a ocorrencia de 500 mil novos casos de câncer no Brasil, sendo que praticamente metade seria em mulheres, das quais 8 a 10% teriam menos de 40 anos. Dentre todos os tipos de cânceres em mulheres, o de mama responde por aproximadamente 50% e o de colo uterino por aproximadamente 20% dos casos. Nota-se a importância e a responsabilidade do especialista em Ginecologia no diagnostico e conducao destes casos. Ainda segundo o INCA, a sobrevida em 5 anos e de 61% para os tumores mamarios e de 49% para os tumores de colo uterino. Somente por esses dados epidemiologicos podemos notar quao grande e o problema e qual sua repercussao em saude publica. Mais da metade das mulheres acometidas por câncer de etiologia ginecologica estarao vivas apos cinco anos e grande parte delas em idade fertil, com provavel e possivel desejo reprodutivo.
