A New CCII Based Voltage-Mode Multifunctional Filter with Reduced Number of Active and Passive Elements

Firat Yucel; Erkan Yuce

In this paper, a new voltage-mode (VM) multifunctional filter comprising two second-generation current conveyors (CCIIs) is proposed. The proposed filter with one input and three outputs is also composed of three resistors and two grounded capacitors. The proposed filter has high input impedance; thus, it can be easily connected with other VM circuits. The proposed filter can simultaneously provide low-pass (LP), band-pass (BP) and high-pass (HP) responses. A number of time domain and frequency domain simulation results are included to confirm the claimed theory.

A New Voltage-Mode Multifunctional Filter Using Only Two Voltage Followers and a Minimum Number of Passive Elements

Firat Yucel; Erkan Yuce

A new voltage-mode (VM) multifunctional ̄lter using only two voltage followers (VFs), two resistors and two capacitors is proposed. The proposed ̄lter with two inputs and two outputs can provide low-pass (LP) and high-pass (HP) responses. It does not need any critical passive component matching constraints. Additionally, it has low output impedances, low power dissipation and adequately low THD values. However, it does not have high input impedances; accordingly, it requires an extra VF to obtain high input impedance. A number of time domain and frequency domain simulations and experimental tests are performed to verify the claimed theory.A new voltage-mode (VM) multifunctional filter using only two voltage followers (VFs), two resistors and two capacitors is proposed. Analog Squarers Using Only Seven MOS Transistors and a Four Quadrant Analog Multiplier Application

Firat Yucel; Erkan Yuce

Two new analog squarer circuits employing only seven MOS transistors are proposed in this study. The second proposed analog squarer is derived from the first one with slight modifications. MOS transistors used in both of the proposed analog squarers are operated in the saturation region. They are constructed as voltage input and current output. They have high input and high output impedances; consequently, they can be connected with other structures easily. Both of the proposed analog squarers have low power dissipation. However, they need some active component matching conditions. A four quadrant analog multiplier is given as an application example. Workability of the proposed analog squarers is verified by some SPICE simulation results. Additionally, some experimental tests are achieved.

New highly linear tunable transconductor circuits with low number of MOS transistors

Firat Yucel; Erkan Yuce

ABSTRACT In this article, two new highly linear tunable transconductor circuits are proposed. The transconductors employ only six MOS transistors operated in saturation region. The second transconductor is derived from the first one with a slight modification. Transconductance of both transconductors can be tuned by a control voltage. Both of the transconductors do not need any additional bias voltages and currents. Another important feature of the transconductors is their high input and output impedances for cascadability with other circuits. Besides, total harmonic distortions are less than 1.5% for both transconductors. A positive lossless grounded inductor simulator with a grounded capacitor is given as an application example of the transconductors. Simulation and experimental test results are included to show effectiveness of the proposed circuits.
