This paper considers the impact of location as context in mobile eye tracking studies that extend to large-scale spaces, such as pedestrian wayfinding studies. It shows how adding a subjects location to her gaze data enhances the possibilities for data visualization and analysis. Results from an explorative pilot study on mobile map usage with a pedestrian audio guide demonstrate that the combined recording and analysis of gaze and position can help to tackle research questions on human spatial problem solving in a novel way.

We discuss foundations and options for alternative, agent-based information retrieval (IR) approaches in Social Networking (SN). In addition to usual semantic contexts, these approaches make use of long-term social and spatio-temporal contexts according to Human IR heuristics. Using a large Twitter dataset, we investigate foundations for these approaches and especially the question in how far spatio-temporal contexts can act as a conceptual bracket implicating social and semantic cohesion, giving rise to the concept of Spatio-Temporal Small Worlds.

In this chapter the draft for a novel conceptual model for indoor navigation, the multi layered space-event model (MLSM), is combined with existing standards for Geo Web Services in order to define a framework for a 3D indoor routing service with rule-based 2D visualization. We prove that the MLSM in the test scenarios we defined can be used as a conceptual model for an indoor routing service. With the help of a prototype we also show that the MLSM needs some extensions if a 3D MLSM graph shall be visualized in 2D. Our case scenarios and visualization examples are based on an existing Building Information Model (BIM) of a specific building.
