Vulnerabilidade Natural do Solo de Silveira Martins-RS

The environmental analysis, based on morphogenesis and pedogenesis processes, provide important data for the development public policies for the use and occupation landscape sustainably. This research aimed to analyse the vulnerability to natural soil loss of Silveira Martins-RS. Therefore, created a spacial database in a Geographic Information System (GIS) using Spring software. Vulnerability to natural soil loss map was prepared based on information regarding the slope, geomorphology, geology and soils according to the degree of vulnerability of each information through map algebra. Were identified the occurrence of five classes in Silveira Martins municipality, there are the stable units with a predominance of soil forming processes (38.08%), and moderately vulnerable units, prevailing erosion processes (53.67%). Areas classified as moderately vulnerable and vulnerable (8.25%) correspond to areas with slopes greater than 25o and with geological and geomorphological formation less stable. The units in which predominated the natural vulnerability, it is suggested that special attention in relation to the natural environmental and the agents that influence. Thus, it is necessary to use good social practices associated with environmental policies in the process of economic decision, enabling the recovery and protection of the natural environment.

Ecological and Environmental Aspects of Nutrient Cycling in the Atlantic Forest, Brazil

In developing countries, where population growth is on the rise, intense anthropogenic actions in natural forests are observed usually in the form of burnings and shallow cuts. With aiming to deploy crops or even promote irrational exploitation of forest products. In this context, preservation of natural forests (tropical and subtropical forests) depends on the knowledge of their dynamics. This information is important to allow exploration of natural forests sustainably or to subsidize conservation actions. In planted and native forests, the biogeochemical cycling of nutrients predominantly occurs through production and decomposition of litterfall. The information provided in this chapter, in particular with regard to nutrient cycling, is an important basis for understanding the structure and dynamics of nutrients in the ecosystem. We characterized nutrient stocks and elucidate some aspects of forest growth and productivity. This information is important to enhance biodiversity conservation and generate ecosystem goods and services in the Atlantic Forest Biome. Even with the intense change of land use (from forest to agricultural, pasture and urbanization), the region has high diversity of endemic species, and is considered a priority area for biodiversity conservation.

POTENCIAL SOCIAL DO MUNICÍPIO DE SILVEIRA MARTINS, RS: CONTRIBUIÇÃO AO ZEE

Esta pesquisa consistiu em identificar e diagnosticar as potencialidades sociais do municipio de Silveira Martins/RS, segundo a metodologia proposta por Becker e Egler (1996) para o Zoneamento Ecologico-Economico (ZEE). Deste modo, utilizou-se como base cartografica os setores censitarios do municipio e dados referentes a economia, educacao, politica e saneamento basico. Com base nas informacoes elaborou-se um banco de dados e por meio da algebra de mapas ponderou-se os indicadores em valores de alto, medio e baixo potencial de acordo com o potencial natural, humano, produtivo e institucional, derivando o mapa de potencial social. No municipio de Silveira Martins predomina o potencial mediano na maioria dos indicadores analisados, isto significa que nao foi evidenciado potencial alto ou baixo. Verificou-se que o municipio apresenta equilibrio entre as restricoes territoriais e o potencial de expansao produtivo. Isso pode ser considerado como um aspecto positivo e com politicas publicas o desenvolvimento sustentavel podera ser intensificado.

OBJETOS DE APRENDIZAGEM PARA O ENSINO DE GEOGRAFIA: INTERAÇÃO E ANIMAÇÃO COM SIMULADORES

O objetivo deste trabalho constou da elaboracao de objetos de aprendizagem para serem aplicados em sala de aula abordando temas e conceitos geograficos, visando contribuir para o processo de ensino e aprendizagem, especialmente da Geografia. Para tanto, utilizou-se os softwares ArcGis 9.3, no modulo ArcMap, o Photoshop e o Flash. Como resultado obteve-se dois simuladores animados e interativos: um de relevo e outro de bacias hidrograficas. De posse destes materiais elaboraram-se algumas sugestoes de aplicacao dos mesmos com alunos da Educacao Basica, de modo a proporcionar a interacao dos mesmos com os materiais. Assim, contatou-se que as tecnologias na educacao apresentam-se como grandes potenciais para a aprendizagem e integracao dos educandos com os temas em estudo.

Cartografia interatiiva: jogo digital para a alfabetização cartográfica em São Pedro do Sul/RS

The current research have aimed how to develop a digital game able to assist in the process of cartographic literacy and validate with the subjects of theaching and learning Geography. To do so, first held in a deepening theoretical and methodological issues through restoring theoretical. Having the theoretical mold defined the development of the digital game begun. The game’s validation has occurred with fifth grade students from Escola Estadual de Educacao Basica Tito Ferrari located in Sao Pedro do Sul/RS. As results we achieved the game’s elaboration and validate “Pedrinho in: knowing the map“ wich provided a meaningful cartographic learning literacy and important educational resource for the city.
