Actitudes hacia la inmigración en España a través de la Encuesta Social Europea

This article examines attitudes towards immigration in Spain through the analysis of the most recent data from the European Social Survey (2014). Thus, the main objective of this study is to evaluate how Spaniards represent themselves towards immigration, analyzing what are the threats they perceive, how strong they are and how they modulate their response towards immigration. Based on this, a discrete response Logit model was designed to define which factors related to the economic-material and symbolic threats were triggers of Spanish negative attitudes and reluctant behaviours towards immigration.
