Tetrahedron Letters | 1982

Knoevenagel condensation catalysed by aluminium oxide.

Françoise Texier-Boullet; A. Foucaud

Abstract The Knoevenagel condensation of carbonyl compounds with active methylene compounds was readily carried out with aluminium oxide as catalyst.

Tetrahedron | 1987

Knoevenagel, wittig and wittig-horner reactions in the presence of magnesium oxide or zinc oxide.

Hélène Moison; Françoise Texier-Boullet; A. Foucaud

Abstract Alkenes are prepared by Wittig, Knoevenagel and Wittig-Horner reactions in solid-liquid systems, with magnesium oxide or zinc oxide as catalyst. When Wittig-Horner reaction is competitive with Knoevenagel reaction, the catalyst can be modified to give a highly selective reaction ; the addition of dimethylsulfoxide on MgO or heiamethylphosphoric triamide on ZnO gives more efficient catalysts for the Wittig-Homer reaction. The addition of a small amount of HgCl 2 , or CdCl 2 , on ZnO gives more efficient catalysts for the Knoevenagel reaction.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1993

Synthesis in dry media coupled with microwave irradiation : Application to the preparation of enaminoketones.

Benno Rechsteiner; Françoise Texier-Boullet; Jack Hamelin

Abstract β-diketones react with a variety of amines and aminoesters over clay K 10 or silica under microwave irradiation in open vessels to give within a few minutes, the corresponding enaminoketones with good yields. According to the reaction conditions acylamines may also result.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1986

An unexpected reactivity of simple heterogeneous mixture of γ-alumina and potassium fluoride : 1-hydroxyalkane phosphonic esters synthesis from non-activated ketones in “dry media”.

Françoise Texier-Boullet; Maryvonne Lequitte

Abstract 1-Hydroxyalkane phosphonic esters are readily obtained from non-activated ketones and dialkylphosphites by adsorbing them together on a heterogeneous γ-alumina-potassium fluoride mixture.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1986

Preparation and oxidation of α-nitro alcohols with supported reagents.

Jean-Marie Mélot; Françoise Texier-Boullet; A. Foucaud

Abstract Preparation of 2-nitro alkanols has been achieved by condensation of aldehydes with nitroalkanes in the presence of alumina-supported potassium fluoride. Nitroketones are produced by oxidation of nitroalkanols with montmorillonite - supported chromium trioxide.

Tetrahedron | 1985

Reactions de wittig, wittig-horner et knoevenagel par activation anionique avec l'alumine ou le fluorure de potassium depose sur l'alumine, sans solvant

Françoise Texier-Boullet; D. Villemin; M. Ricard; Hélène Moison; A. Foucaud

Abstract Wittig, Wittig-Horner and Knoevenagel reactions are achieved in the presence of alumina or potassium fluoride supported on alumina, without organic solvent. The presence of a small amount of water increases the rate of the Wittig and Wittig-Horner reactions. The reaction of the diethyl cyanomethylphosphonate with an aldehyde in the presence of dry alumina is oriented towards the Knoevenagel reaction.

Synthetic Communications | 1999

Simple Access to α, β Unsaturated Ketones by Acid-Catalyzed Solvent-Free Reactions

Erwan Le Gall; Françoise Texier-Boullet; Jack Hamelin

Abstract Various chalcones and dibenzylidene cycloalkanones were readily prepared in a few minutes with good yields by simply mixing aromatic aldehydes with substituted acetophenones or benzaldehyde with cycloalkanones in the presence of catalytic amounts of p-toluene sulfonic acid under focused microwave irradiation.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1991

Alkali metal fluoride mediated Silyl-Reformatsky reaction in solid-liquid media; activation by microwaves

Régine Latouche; Françoise Texier-Boullet; Jack Hamelin

Abstract Condensation of trimethylsilylacetonitrile or ethyltrimethylsilyacetate with benzaldehyde, in the presence of dried alcali metal fluorides in heterogeneous media under microwaves leads readily to β-trimethylsilyloxynitrile or ester according to a Reformatsky type reaction. The later products could be hydrolyzed and dehydrated on the wet inorganic salt to give the corresponding alkenes.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1980

Reactions en milieu heterogene liquide-solide : Reactions de wittig-horner et addition du phosphite de diethyle sur les composes carbonyles en presence de KF, 2H2O.

Françoise Texier-Boullet; A. Foucaud

Resume Potassium fluoride dihydrate in solid-liquid two phase systems, eventually with phase transfer catalysis, is a moderate base which can be used for Wittig-Horner reaction and synthesis of hydroxyphosphonates.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1993

Synthesis in dry media coupled with microwave irradiation: Application to the preparation of β-aminoesters and β-lactams via silyl ketene acetals and aldimines.

Françoise Texier-Boullet; Régine Latouche; Jack Hamelin

Abstract According to the reaction conditions, silyl ketene acetals react with aldimines to give β-aminoesters (montmorillonite clay K 10 , or para-toluenesulfonic acid) or β-lactams (KF/18 crown-6) in a few minutes under microwave irradiation.
