BMW gasoline engines are characterized by their high running smoothness and outstanding acoustic comfort. In order to ensure these characteristics in the light of shorter times to market and increased variant diversity, CAE methods are intensively applied during engine development. The following contribution presents a CAE process for acoustic analysis which, in particular, resolves the conflicting aims of high-quality results and speedy analysis.

BMW-Ottomotoren zeichnen sich durch eine hohe Laufkultur und einen hervorragenden Akustikkomfort aus. Um diese Eigenschaften bei verkurzten Entwicklungszeiten und steigender Variantenvielfalt sicherzustellen, erfolgt die Motorentwicklung unter intensiver Anwendung von CAE-Methoden. Im folgenden Beitrag wird ein CAE-Prozess zur Akustikanalyse vorgestellt, der insbesondere den Zielkonflikt zwischen Ergebnisgute und Analysegeschwindigkeit auflost.
