Dis)agreement in Spanish

Abstract The supposedly superficial rule of Subject‐Verb Agreement in Spanish is examined. There exist three types of counterexamples for which this rule cannot account. Subsequently, its theoretical consequences are discussed and some potentially fruitful avenues of future research are suggested.
