The Remote Laboratory Management System (RLMS), REMLABNET, for the integrating and management of remote experiments for starting university level and secondary schools, is presented. Its building was initiated both from the extensive use and expertise in Internet School Experimental System (ISES), remote experiments built and the lack of a similar system for secondary schools in Europe. RLMS is built using new components, designed for the purpose, as Measureserver, web space management, data warehouse, communication board of RLMS, etc. The communication server will provide beside connection and diagnostics services also services for the teachers comfort as white board, IP telephony, simulation inclusion, test management and reservation management. For the sake of safety, optimal access to all experiments and economical exploitation the virtualized cloud will be used.

Federated remote laboratory management system, REMLABNET III, (version 2016), for the integrating and management of remote experiments for starting university level and secondary schools, is presented. Its building was initiated both from the extensive use and expertise in Internet School Experimental System (ISES) and the lack of a similar system for remote experiments building for starting university level and secondary schools in Europe. The system uses new features, compared to REMLABNET II (version 2015) we intend to present: - federation of two RLMS systems Go-Lab and Remlabnet into one cooperating system sharing remote experiments, new Measureserver with advanced diagnostics of connected experiments, and log files for individual connections of clients and their evaluation.

Mobile devices are more and more often used for a web page browsing. The leading share of the devices used for the web browsing is changing from a PC to the mobile devices. This situation brings new questions in a field of web page optimization for this technologies and the remote laboratories control web page is no exception. There are three concept of solution: mobile, responsive and classic web page. For our case of remote laboratories the responsive web was used to optimization of a remote experiments web page. Optimization process is described in this paper.

The paper deals with the design, set up and functioning of the remote experiment “Energy transformation” measured via Internet. The experiment is free accessible on http://remotelab10.truni.sk as a part of the e-laboratory at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Education, Trnava University in Trnava, Slovakia. The experiment is based on Internet School Experimental System (ISES) and built using the environment Easy Remote ISES. The main task of the experiment is the study of functioning of individual energy transducers and their energy transformation efficiencies of three types of energy transformation - solar to electrical, electrical to chemical energy of hydrogen and chemical energy of hydrogen to electrical energy. In the results we give the experimental results in graphical form and their evaluation towards the energy conversion efficiency.

The paper describes the remote experiment “Radiation Remote Laboratory” with two levels diagnostic system, built on ISES - Internet School Experimental System, accessible across the Internet and provided via the system REMLABNET (http://www.remlabnet.eu/). The remote experiment strives to provide the basic knowledge on γ radioactivity and/or γ radiation and its basic application laws, and parameters like its Poisson distribution, intensity dependence on distance from the point source and provides basic ideas about its absorption in various materials. Absorption in Cu on thickness of the Cu material is possible to examine in detail. Besides, this experiment serves to develop the basic knowledge for handling the radioactive materials in education and practice.

Our recent research in remote laboratory management systems (REMLABNET—www.remlabnet.eu) deals with questions such as how to make the user experience stronger and how to help users understand complex phenomena behind remote experiments and the laws of physics governing the experiment. At our current stage of technological development, we have both sufficiently powerful hardware and software to create an impressive virtual user interface which could be a help to this mission. An extended mixed reality taxonomy for remote physical experiments was proposed to identify goals of the future REMLABNET research and development. The first part of this paper describes classes of taxonomy and reasons why they were set up in this way. The second part mentions the chosen method of our research and our current progress.

This paper presents new form of remote experiment “Electromagnetic Remote Laboratory”, which is designed for students and educational purposes and integrated in REMLABNET system. The remote experiment was built using universal and reliable Intelligent School Experimental System (ISES). The main new feature of the remote experiment “Electromagnetic Remote Laboratory” is the output of information in data sets, which gives the possibility to further analyze this data to obtain insight into theory of electromagnetism of Faraday. Another new feature of the remote experiment is the embedded synchronized simulation, which further deepens the insight into Faraday’s theory of electromagnetism.

The paper describes a new remote experiment in REMLABNET - “Remote Wave Laboratory” constructed on the ISES (Internet School Experimental System). The remote experiment contributes to understanding of concepts of harmonic waves, their parameters (amplitude, frequency and period, and phase velocity) and dependence of the instantaneous phase on time and path covered. Also it serves for the measurements and understanding of the concept of the phase sensitive interference and the superposition of parallel/perpendicular waves.

Real remote laboratory experiment on Joules experimentation has both the historical and pedagogical importance in the building of the bridge between macro and micro world. Dissipative forces and their work as a transformation of the macroscopic mechanical energy into the energy of thermal movement are decisive in the study of mechanical phenomena of real world. The remote experiment should both qualitatively and quantitatively describe the transformation of macroscopic kinetic energy into heat and show the quantities, active in the transformation. The remote experiment represents a new generation of ISES remote experiments. The measureserver is equipped with a new diagnostics block, enabling diagnosis information on remote experiments both for the client and the provider.
