Development of CO2 reforming technology

A CO 2 reforming catalyst and process have been developed. The commercial scale CO 2 reforming catalyst has demonstrated its activity and stability in pilot plant tests under operating conditions for the manufacture of synthesis gas with a H 2 /CO ratio of 2.0 for approximately 7,000 hours. In these tests, synthesis gas was generated by CO 2 and H 2 O reforming with high energy efficiency: low CO 2 /carbon and low H 2 O/carbon ratios in feed gas composition. Our catalyst exhibited high carbon removal characteristics with steam from the catalyst surface, which prevents carbon deposition on our CO 2 reforming catalyst.

95 Unimodal porous spinel and its application to a new cataalyst material

Abstract A spinel-type oxide is appropriate for use as a catalyst material due to excellent thermal stability and mechanical strength, although the catalytic use is restricted because of low surface area. Unimodal Porous Spinel (UPS) can be prepared by a simple impregnation method using the pore-controlled γ-alumina precursor. The sharp pore distribution was definite in calcined UPS, and it has a high surface area of more than 115 m2/g-Al2O3. Two or three metal sources can also be impregnated by this method. The catalyst using UPS of the ZnAl2O4 system as a support showed good performance on durable activity in dehydrogenation of isobutane.
