Determination of structure of polyunsaturated hydrocarbons and polymers by a new method of ozonolysis in volatile solvents

V. N. Odinokov; V. K. Katkova; G. A. Tolstikov

ConclusionsA new, efficient method has been devised for determining the structure of polyunsaturated hydrocarbons and polymers by ozonizing them in a volatile solvent with subsequent contact between the peroxide products and Lindlars catalyst in a hydrogen atmosphere and preoxidation of the aldehydes formed with an ozone-oxygen mixture in ethyl acetate or hydrogen peroxide in the presence of SeO2 in tert-butanol.

Synthesis of racemic octaprenol ωtttcccsOH and nonaprenol ωtttccccsOH

N. Ya. Grigor'eva; O. A. Pinsker; V. N. Odinokov; G. A. Tolstikov; A. M. Moiseenkov

ConclusionsA ten-stage synthesis of the dolichol-related racemic octaprenol ωtttcccsOH and nonaprenol ωtttccccsOH was carried out using controlled aldol condensation at the key stage.

Intramolecular electron transfer in the intermediately formed radical-anion during electroreduction of ethyl 3,7-dimethyl-10-oxo-2,6-decadienoate in DMFA

S. G. Mairanovskii; G. K. Bishimbaeva; N. Ya. Grigor'eva; I. M. Avrutov; V. N. Odinokov; G. A. Tolstikov

Conclusions1.The polarographic behavior of the four isomers of ethyl 3,7-diraethyl-10-oxo-2,6-decadienoate and also of model compounds (heptenal and 2E,6Z-farnesenic ester) was studied. During electroreduction intramolecular electron transfer from the ester groups to the aldehyde group occurs in the intermediately formed radical-anion.2.The existence of the conformation with closer aldehyde and carboxyl groups in the α,ω-aldehydo esters (I) was confirmed by the polarographic method.

Mass spectra of negative ions of aliphatic ω-oxocarboxylic acid derivatives

I. I. Furlei; V. N. Odinokov; A. P. Zhavoronkov; G. A. Tolstikov

ConclusionsFragmentation of the molecules of methyl esters of aliphatic ω-oxocarboxylic acids upon dissociative capture of electrons includes processes of fragmentation that are characteristic for each functional group individually. It has been established that terminal functional groups separated by a saturated chain of four carbon atoms will interact, thus demonstrating that this molecule can exist in the folded conformation.

Negative-ion mass spectrometry and stereochemistry of organic compounds

I. I. Furlei; V. N. Odinokov; V. I. Khvostenko; G. A. Tolstikov; N. Ya. Grigor'eva; I. M. Avrutov; A. V. Semenovskii

ConclusionsThe ester group has a decisive role in the fragmentation process of the molecular negative ion following dissociative electron capture by the ethyl esters of isomeric 3,7,11-trimethyl-2,6,10-dodecatriene- and 10-oxo-3, 7-dimethyl-2,6-decadienecarboxylic acids.
