Alena Voronina; Ilya Kuzmin; Artur Vashurin; G. P. Shaposhnikov; S. G. Pukhovskaya; O. A. Golubchikov

Sulfo derivatives of cobalt phthalocyanine containing naphthalene fragments have been synthesized, and their self-association and molecular complexation with pyridine in aqueous solution have been studied by spectrophotometry. The dissociation constants of the dimeric associates have been determined. The effects of the number of functional groups in the peripheral substituents and of the axial ligand on the phthalocyanine dimerization process have been revealed.

Artur Vashurin; R. A. Badaukaite; Natalya Futerman; S. G. Pukhovskaya; G. P. Shaposhnikov; O. A. Golubchikov

Enhancement of the catalytic activity of phthalocyanine catalysts by their immobilizing on polymer matrices has been studied. It has been found that the immobilization of sulfonated cobalt phthalocyanines on polymers enhances their catalytic activity in the oxidation of sodium diethyldithiocarbamate with air oxygen under mild conditions.

Nucleophilic substitution in 4-bromo-5-nitrophthalodinitrile: X. Synthesis of 4-(1-benzotriazolyl)-5-(1(2)-naphthyloxy)-phthalodinitriles and related phthalocyanines

Abstract4-(1-Benzotriazolyl)-5-[1(2)-naphthyloxy]phthalodinitriles were obtained by nucleophilic substitution of bromine and nitro group in 4-bromo-5-nitrophthalodinitrile. These compounds were used for the synthesis of the corresponding octa-substituted phthalocyanines. Spectral data of the compounds obtained were examined.

Simultaneous analysis of X-ray powder diffraction patterns and DSC traces for 4-tert-butylcalix[4]arene-n-hexane and 4-tert-butylcalix[4]arene-acetonitrile compounds as functions of thermal history allows us to reveal the complex relationship between guest-free polymorphic products and desolvation of 4-tert-butylcalix[4]arene inclusion compounds.

Synthesis and Induction of Mesomorphic Properties of Tetrabenzoporphine Derivatives

V. V. Bykova; N. V. Usol'tseva; Evgeny V. Kudrik; N. Galanin; G. P. Shaposhnikov; L. Yakubov

Zinc complexes of meso-alkyl-substituted tetrabenzoporphines and their aza-derivatives have been synthesized using the interaction of phthalimide or its derivatives with zinc salts of the carboxylic acids. The porphyrin-ligands were obtained on the basis of the above mentioned compounds. The spectral and mesomorphic properties of the synthesized compounds were studied.

Nucleophilic substitution of 4-bromo-5-nitrophthalodinitrile: XIII. Synthesis and properties of 4-(1-benzotriazolyl)-5-(4-tritylphenoxy)phthalonitrile and phthalocyanines based thereon

Serafima Znoyko; A. I. Savinova; V. E. Maizlish; G. P. Shaposhnikov; I. G. Abramov

Abstract4-(1-Benzotriazolyl)-5-(4-tritylphenoxy)phthalonitrile was synthesized by nucleophilic substitution of bromine and nitro group of 4-bromo-5-nitrophthalonitrile, and on its basis the corresponding octa-substituted phthalocyanines were obtained. Spectral properties of the synthesized compounds were investigated.

Self-association of sulfo derivatives of cobalt phthalocyaninates in the presence of 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane

Alena Voronina; Anna Filippova; Artur Vashurin; S. G. Pukhovskaya; G. P. Shaposhnikov; O. A. Golubchikov

Complex formation between water-soluble cobalt(II) phthalocyaninates and 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]-octane has been studied. The formation of the 1: 1 molecular complex and the 2: 1 sandwich-type dimers has been confirmed. The sandwich-type dimers and the J-aggregates involving the peripheral groups of the macrocycle are formed in ethanol medium. Stability constants of the molecular complexes have been determined, and the effect of size of the peripheral substituents on the dimeric structures stability has been elucidated.

Sulfonated Co(II) phthalocyanines covalently anchored at organic polymers as catalyst for mild oxidation of mercaptans

Artur Vashurin; Ilya Kuzmin; Mikhail Razumov; Svetlana Pukhovskaya; O. A. Golubchikov; Alena Voronina; G. P. Shaposhnikov; Oscar I. Koifman

Current work is devoted to covalent immobilization of sulfonated derivatives of cobalt phthalocyanines “Merox catalysts” on the surfaces of polypropylene and polyethylene terephthalate. Their catalytic activity in reaction of mild oxidation of sulfur compounds to disulfides with oxygen of the air was studied. Anchoring of the catalyst on this polymer prevents its leaching and promotes its efficient recovering and recycling without significant loss of catalytic activity.

Erratum to: “Nucleophilic Substitution in 4-Bromo-5-nitrophthalodinitrile: XI. Preparation, Properties, and Prediction of Mesomorphism in Mixed-Substituted Phthalocyanines Containing Aryloxy and Benzotriazole Fragments”

S. A. Znoiko; O. B. Akopova; N. V. Bumbina; N. V. Usol'tseva; V. E. Maizlish; G. P. Shaposhnikov; I. G. Abramov

Stepwise nucleophilic substitution of bromine and nitro group in 4-bromo-5-nitrophthalodinitrile has led to a series of phthalonitriles containing benzotriazole and aryloxy fragments; basing on them, the mixed-substituted phthalocyanines have been prepared. The spectral properties of products have been studied. According to simulation of columnar mesomorphism only one of the products is not capable of mesomorphism characteristic of discotic mesogens; the result has been confirmed with the experiment.

Phthalonitriles containing ester groups and copper phthalocyanines based on them

T. V. Tikhomirova; V. E. Maizlish; G. P. Shaposhnikov

Phthalonitriles containing ester groups were obtained by acylation of 4-hydroxyphthalonitrile and esterification of 4-(p-carboxyphenyloxy)phthalonitriles. On the basis of these phthalonitriles the respective copper phthalocyanines were synthesized. Spectral and some other physical and chemical properties of the synthesized compounds were investigated.
