With reference to two observations of acute respiratory distress syndrome and viral influenza with serious developing fibrosis, the authors insist on the importance of early introduction of ventilation with positive pressure and the necessity, in certain cases, of long term ventilation.

Pathologie iatrogène en Médecine Interne (étude prospective sur 1110 hospitalisés en un an)

During one year, we studied, in a prospective mannor, 1110 files and found 103 cases of iatrogenic pathology out of 91 files (46 before hospitalisation and 57 during their stay in the ward).

During one year, from a total of 1075 out-patients from various medical services, 912 persons aged from 70 years upwards were analysed. The factors permitted to define objectives giving an outline for a gerontology plan for each region.

An acute dyspnea appearing suddenly in a 58 year old man suffering from limbgirdle muscular dystrophy was the cause of a pulmonary infection coupled with ventricular insufficiency on the left side. This showed a hypertrophic cardiomyopathy non obstructive posing the problem of an associated pathology or a fortuitous association.

Encéphalopathie respiratoire hypercapnique et insuffisance ventriculaire droite aiguë : manifestations inaugurales d'une maladie de Steinert

A 37 year old woman was hospitalised for respiratory encephalitic with hypercapnia and ventricular insufficiency on the right side. The clinical anamnestic elements and complementary exams resulted in a diagnostic of Steinerts disease, the same disease found in one of the patients ancestors.
