Cleromyrine I, a new cyclohexapeptide from clerodendrum myricoides

Abstract A cyclic hexapeptide was isolated from Clerodendrum myricoides. The amino acid composition was determined by chiral chromatography. The sequence c(Ala-Gly-Pro-Ile-Val-Phe). A proposal for the conformation is given.

Application de la chromatographie en phase gazeuse à l'étude des produits de pyrolyse d'alcolydes indoliques : II. Interprétation des pyrogrammes et discussion

Abstract On gas chromatography of pyrolysed indole alkaloids a characteristics pyrogram is obtained. The strcuture of the fragments was determined by comparing theretention times with those of known derivatives of indole, pyridine, I,2,3,4-tetrahydrocarbazole, β-carboline and by means of I.R. and U.V. spectra of the trapped products. This technique makes it possible to differentiate between the different classes of alkaloids: those with a six-membered C ring, bridged six-membered C ring, or seven-membered C ring. The difference between the methoxy derivatives substituted on the indole ring is very clear.

Synthesis of 1,2,4,6,7,11b-hexahydrobenzo[a]quinolizin-3-one and of some related compounds

High yield syntheses of 3-ethylidene-1,2,4,6,7,11b-hexahydrobenzo[a] quinolizine and the corresponding 3-ketone, and of 3-ethyl-2,3,4,6,7,11b-hexahydro-1H-benzo[a]quinolizine, are described, starting from 1-ethoxycarbonylmethyl-3,4-dihydroisoquinoline.
