N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylurea (TMU) adducts of the lanthanide perrhenates

M. Perrier; G. Vicentini

The reaction between hydrated lanthanide perrhenates and N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylurea (TMU) was studied. Compounds of compositions Ln (ReO4)3·5TMU (Ln = LaSm) and Ln(ReO4)3·6TMU(LN = EuLu, Y) were obtained. The i.r. spectra and the molar conductances in nitromethane were determined.

N,N-dimethylacetamide adducts of the lanthanide nitrates

G. Vicentini; E. de Carvalho Filho

Abstract Compounds of general formula Ln(NO3)3·4DMA (Ln  Ce, Pr and DMA  N,N-dimethylacetamide) and Ln(NO3)3·3DMA (Ln  Y, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu) have been obtained by the reaction of hydrated lanthanide nitrates with N,N-dimethylacetamide. The spectra between 340–800 mμ, the molar conductivities of some of the compounds, the i.r. spectra and X-ray powder patterns have been determined.

Diphenylphosphinamide adducts of the lanthanide perchlorates

G. Vicentini; P.O. Dunstan

Abstract The reaction between hydrated lanthanide perchlorates and diphenylphosphinamide (DPPA) was studied. Compounds of general formula Ln(ClO 4 ) 3 · 6DPPA (Ln = La-Lu, Y) were obtained. The i.r. spectra, the molar conductances in nitrobenzene and nitromethane, and the X-ray powder patterns of the substances were obtained.

Addition compounds between lanthanide bromides and N,N-dimethylacetamide

G. Vicentini; C. Airoldi

Abstract The reaction between hydrated lanthanide bromides and N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMA) was studied. Compounds of general formula LnBr 3 ·5DMA (Ln = La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, and Dy) and LnBr 3 ·5DMA·3H 2 O (Ln = Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, and Y) were obtained. The i.r. spectra, the molar conductance of the compounds in DMA and nitromethane have been determined. A study considering the existence of cationic species in DMA solutions is also presented.

Adducts between some lanthanide nitrates and perchlorates and N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylmalonamide(TMMA)

G. Vicentini

Abstract Addition compounds of N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylmalonamide (TMMA) and some lanthanide nitrates and perchlorates were obtained. Compounds of general formula Ln(NO 3 ) 3 ·2TMMA and Ln(ClO 4 ) 3 ·4TMMA (Ln  La, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu and Y) are described. The compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, i.r. spectra and X-ray powder patterns. The molar conductances in nitromethane were also determined.

Anhydrous N,N-dimethylacetamide adducts of some lanthanide perrhenates

G. Vicentini; M. Perrier; J.C. Prado

Abstract The preparation of N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMA) adducts of some lanthanide perrhenates is described. Compounds of general formula Ln(ReO 4 ) 3 ·4 DMA (Ln - Ce, Pr, ND, Sm, Eu, Dy, Ho, Ere, Y) were obtained. A study considering the visible and i.r. spectra, conductance measurements, and thermogravimetric analysis are presented.

Diphenylphosphinamide adducts of the lanthanide chlorides and nitrates

G. Vicentini; J.C. Prado

Abstract The reaction between hydrated lanthanide chlorides and nitrates with diphenylphosphinamide (DPPA) was studied. Compounds of formula LnCl 3 . 5 DPPA (Ln  La, Ce, Pr, Nd), LnCl 3 .4 DPPA (Ln  Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, Y), Ln(NO 3 ) 3 . 3 DPPA (Ln  La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho) and Ln(NO 3 ) 3 .4 DPPA (Ln  Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, Y) were obtained. The compounds were characterized by elemental analysis and i.r. spectra. Conductance measurements in nitrobenzene and nitromethane were performed for the nitrates.
