Object representation aims to determine a set of features that best represents a specific...Looking to determine the characteristics of the common curriculum of engineering careers of Division de Ciencias de la Vida (DICIVA), we conducted a review of literature and the generic competencies of graduation from High school, we analyzed the results of admission exam and studied a survey of employers. A common curriculum for curricular modification of careers in Food Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Agricultural Mechanical Engineering was developed and proposed. The common curriculum is competency based, is integrated with common learning units between careers, promotes the development of basic skills and required disciplines, responds to the needs of globalization and considers the learning and evaluation activities, different profiles, credits and activities arising from them. It is important to update on new educational approaches for teachers and students and to establish closer contact with local businesses.
