A Single Laser Cooled Trapped 40Ca+ Ion in a Miniature Paul Trap

We have observed the phenomenon of phase transition of a few trapped ions in a miniature Paul trap. Judging from the quantum jump signals, a single laser-cooled trapped Ca+ ion has been realized. The ion temperature is estimated to be 22mK. The result shows that the amplitude of ion micromotion is strongly dependent on the rf voltage.

Growth of diamond-like films by dc plasma chemical vapor deposition

Diamond-like films have been deposited by dc plasma chemical vapor deposition (CVD). During deposition, the characteristics of the plasma have been measured by means of the Langmuir single probe. The structure of the deposits has been studied by x-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.

Growth of Diamond Films by Microwave Plasma Chemical Vapor Deposition

Diamond thin films were produced by microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition. The deposit is identified by x-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy and Scanning electron microscopy. During the course of diamond growth, the characteristics of the plasma have been measured by means of the Langmuir double probe and emission spectrometer.
