BACKGROUND : To date, no clinical trials have characterized FFP infusion efficacy, and infusion still carries infectious risk. This single‐blinded crossover study compared postinfusion kinetics of FVII in photochemically treated FFP to standard FFP.

THE SITE OF TRIMETHYLPSORALEN CROSS-LINKING IN CHROMATIN

Gary Wiesehahn; John E. Hearst

ABSTRACT 4, 5′, 8-trimethylpsoralen is used to cross-link DNA in nuclei isolated from Drosophila melanogaster embryos. The nuclei are then digested with micrococcal nuclease. The digestion product from the 4, 5′, 8-trimethylpsoralen treated nuclei shows discrete DNA bands when analyzed on a polyacrylamide gel. The dimer band is isolated and after denaturation the dimer DNA is visualized in the electron microscope. The types and relative amounts of the figures observed are consistent with the region of chromatin which is accessible to 4, 5′, 8-trimethylpsoralen being the same as the region that is susceptible to nuclease.
