Abstract Free radical cyclizations of several bromo allyl and diallyl substituted sulfonamides are described. The regiochemical course of these cyclizations depend on the nature of the substituent groups attached to the π-bond.

Surface photochemistry: the photodimerisation of acenaphthylene on dry silica gel

A bimolecular process on dry silica gel, the photodimerisation of acenaphthylene, has been accomplished, both by direct excitation and by sensitisation, and its behaviour compared with that in solution and that expected for a two-dimensional fluid model.

An Expedient Large-Scale Preparation of a Dibenz[b,e]oxepinone Derivative

Abstract A convenient, large-scale synthesis of a dibenz[b,e]oxepinone derivative is described.
