Michelin tire baby syndrome: a case report

Michelin tire baby syndrome is a rare genetic, benign, hamartomatous condition of the skin characterized by generalized skin folding. Circumferential skin fold is a rare finding at birth. One or few folds around the limbs may be a result of amniotic band constrictions, but multiple, symmetric, ring-like skin folds were first reported by Ross in 1969 and named the Michelin tire baby syndrome. The condition may present as an isolated skin finding or may be associated with other phenotypic abnormalities. Approximately 20 cases of Michelin tire baby syndrome have been reported.
