There are many welded structures in the world such as bridges and viaducts that are subject to fatigue. These structures, generally made of non-alloy or low-alloy steels, have been put into operation some of them with many years ago and have accumulated a large number of variable load cycles over the time. For this reason the occurrence of fatigue phenomenon is inevitable and consists in the occurrence of failures at stresses applied to the structure, below the yield limit of the material. These stresses under the static loads would not cause the failures to appear..This paper will investigate whether two reconditioning techniques “weld toe grinding” and “WIG remelting weld toe”, influences favorably the behavior of welded structures made from HSLA steel, in static and variable loads and therefore if the application of these techniques is justified in both cases. In the paper will be presented the chemical composition and mechanical properties of the base and filler materials, micro and macrostructures, graphics with the variation of microhardness, static and fatigue tensile tests will be performed, and it will be rised durability curve in case of fatigue tests.

It’s well known that the professional experience cumulated in years of teaching brings another vision towards certain challenges. The present paper aims to identify the teachers’ difference of opinion regarding certain aspects of satisfaction on all teaching positions – assistant, lecturer, associate professor, professor. The results have been obtained by analyzing 132 answers received after the distribution of a questionnaire regarding satisfaction in technical higher education. After analysis, for the same dimension of satisfaction, a variable distribution could be observed, explained by the different professional experience of each respondent.

In manufacturing industry there are many applications for the permanent joint of components of different shapes, but they are also very different in terms of chemical composition and structure [1, 2]. This paper is trying to find technological solutions of assembling by welding of two steels with totally different chemical composition, i.e. carbon steel S235JR + AR and austenitic stainless 316L. The process used for making the heterogeneous joint was Metal Inert Gas (MIG) with flux cored wire, numerically coded 137. The paper presents the effects of welding technology, through heat input, such as hardness. Variations of hardness values determined in the joint areas are presented, as well as the chemical composition of the welded joint obtained using the flux cored wire T 23 12 LPM 1/C1, according to EN ISO 17633 - A.
