Biblioteca de orientação da Professôra Primária do Programa de Assistência Brasileiro-Americana ao Ensino Elementar – PABAEE (1956-1964)

Este estudo pretende apresentar o conjunto de manuais que compoem a Colecao Biblioteca de Orientacao da Professora Primaria, fruto do Programa de Assistencia Brasileiro-Americana ao Ensino Elementar (PABAEE), a fim de oferecer novas possibilidades de pesquisa sobre a producao realizada no interior do programa. O PABAEE ocorreu durante os anos de 1956 a 1964, decorrente do convenio estabelecido entre o governo brasileiro (Juscelino Kubitschek - 1956 a 1961) e o governo dos Estados Unidos. A colecao de manuais foi elaborada para o aperfeicoamento das professoras primarias, para que viessem a por em pratica novas metodologias consideradas modernas, inspiradas pela Escola Nova e que tiveram ampla circulacao no territorio brasileiro durante os anos de existencia do programa. A escola agora é outra: o Programa de Assistência Brasileiro Americana ao Ensino Elementar – PABAEE (1956 a 1964)

This is the most complete version of the Brazilian-American Assistance to Elementary Education program (PABAEE), in order to highlight the program and the educational discourses that have involved the same. The research has as temporal cut of the years of 1956 to 1964, period of validity of the agreement between Brazil and the United States. There is no government of Juscelino Kubitschek (1956 to 1961), when the country was taken over by the national developmentalist discourse, based on a policy that preached and stimulated economic growth. This policy sought to reshape various sectors and their functions, and education is yours. The film The School is now more than just presented PABAEE as a solution of the problems for Brazilian education, seeking to strengthen the role for the academy, as well as the labeling of processes of modernization and centrality of the teachers work, but pointed to the need for a new school, raw materials, adequate school items, showing that the current school was late and unattractive. The idea of researching the newspaper O Estudante Orleanense emerged when we found several numbers printed in the collection of EEB Costa Carneiro, located in the city of Orleans/SC in one of the stages of implementation of the Centro de Memoria da Educacao do Sul de Santa Catarina. At the time (2010), found 57 copies, plus a minute book of the Associacao Jornal Escolar O Estudante Orleanense. This article proposes to give visibility to student practices and knowledge, but mainly to understand the contribution of these instruments informal education - newspaper and association - the school culture made this educational institution between the years 1949 and 1973, regarding the civilizing process underway with the installation of the primary school at the national, state and local.
