Novel organocycloborates via Grignard reagents

An unprecedented cyclisation reaction of alpha,omega-borylbromoalkanes is seen upon treatment with magnesium turnings, forming organocycloborates in high yield. The novel boratacyclopentanes and -hexanes have been characterised by X-ray crystallography.
