Aligned 2D CuSCN nanosheets: a high performance field emitter

A low turn-on field of 2.4 V μm−1 is observed for the emission current density of 10 μA cm−2 from aligned copper thiocyanate (CuSCN) nanosheets. The observed low turn-on field is found to be superior to that of inorganic semiconducting and carbon based nanomaterials reported in the literature. The field emission current stability for the preset value of 1 μA over the period of 3 h is found to be better. Aligned CuSCN nanosheets were grown on fluorine doped tin oxide (FTO) coated glass substrates by a simple, low cost Successive Ion Layer Adsorption and Reaction (SILAR) technique at room temperature. Detail characterization of aligned CuSCN nanosheets has been carried out using Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). To the best of our knowledge this is the first report on the field emission studies of aligned CuSCN nanosheets. The simple and inexpensive synthesis route coupled with superior field emission make the present emitter suitable for micro/nano electronic devices.

Sulfonated chitosan-encapsulated HAp@Fe 3 O 4 : an efficient and recyclable magnetic nanocatalyst for rapid eco-friendly synthesis of 2-amino-4-substituted-1,4-dihydrobenzo[4, 5]imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidine-3-carbonitriles

A one-pot, multi-component, synthetic method for preparation of 2-amino-4-substituted-1,4-dihydrobenzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidine-3-carbonitriles has been developed. It was accomplished by mixing 2-aminobenzimidazole, aldehyde and malononitrile in the presence of S-Chit-HAp@Fe3O4 as a nanocatalyst in aqueous medium. The catalyst (S-Chit-HAp@Fe3O4) was synthesized using a co-precipitation method and further characterized by using FT-IR, XRD, FE-SEM, EDX, HR-TEM, TGA and VSM analysis. It was found that the catalyst exhibits magnetic properties and showed high catalytical activity for the synthesis of 2-amino-4-substituted-1,4-dihydrobenzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidine-3-carbonitriles.Graphical AbstractS-Chit-HAp@Fe3O4 nanoparticles catalyzing one-pot, multi-component synthesis of 2-amino-4-substituted-1,4-dihydrobenzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidine-3-carbonitriles in aqueous medium has been reported herein.

Enhanced field emission study of SnS/TiO 2 nanocomposite

Synthesis of SnS/TiO2 nanocomposite was done by thermal evaporation method. The field emission characteristics have been investigated at room temperature. The field emission current density versus applied field (J-E) and emission current versus time (I-t) characteristics were measured in a planer diode configuration at the base pressure of 1 × 10-8 mbar. Turn-on field defined for the emission current density of 0.1μA/cm2 has been found to be 1.2 V/μm and upon the application of high applied electric field of 4.6 V/μm maximum current density of 0.454 mA/cm2 has been achieved. The I-t measurement has been studied at the preset of 1 μA emission current for the duration of 3 hr. Overall nature of emission current has been seen to stable for duration of measurement.
