A neurolinguistic approach to the narrative text: a theoretical perspective

The narrative text permeates human experience. However, narrative understanding is not a simple task, since its comprehension goes through different levels, as proposed by Kintsch; Van Dijk (1978, 1983), Van Dijk (1992, 2010), Kintsch (1998), Kintsch; Rawson (2013), in The Model of Text Processing. From the perspective of Neurolinguistics, we bring the following questions: How narrative text is processed by the cerebral hemispheres? What do experimental neuroimaging studies tell us about it? Which brain areas are embedded in the processing of narrative? In order to discuss these issues based on the literature, and to offer theoretical background for research in this field, we bring contributions from Linguistics and Neurosciences about how the cerebral hemispheres cooperate to process the narrative text.

GÊNEROS DISCURSIVOS E AUTENTICIDADE TEXTUAL NO ENSINO DE LÍNGUA ESTRANGEIRA: UMA ANÁLISE DE LIVROS DIDÁTICOS

Escolher um material didatico adequado as reais necessidades dos educandos e um dos temas mais importantes e, ao mesmo tempo, um dos maiores desafios para os professores de Lingua Estrangeira (LE). No que tange ao ensino da habilidade de leitura, destacamos dois aspectos: a autenticidade dos textos e a diversidade de generos discursivos. Para tanto, elegemos quatro colecoes de livros didaticos, editados a partir do ano de 2004; duas delas compreendem colecoes de livros produzidos no Brasil; enquanto que outras duas contemplam um material elaborado em paises que tem o Ingles como lingua materna. A enfase da analise se da nas unidades dos livros que apresentam os seguintes tempos verbais: presente, passado e futuro. A abordagem utilizada aqui e a dialogica bakhtiniana, a qual consiste em observar os enunciados na materialidade de um genero discursivo. Com esse trabalho, pretendemos promover uma discussao sobre os topicos abordados, bem como fornecer subsidios para o ensino/aprendizagem de LE.
