Caracterização de frutos e árvores de populações naturais de Hancornia speciosa Gomes do cerrado

O trabalho objetivou caracterizar arvores e frutos de populacoes naturais de Hancornia speciosa Gomes, bem como avaliar a distribuicao da variabilidade fenotipica existente. Populacoes de mangabeiras foram amostradas no Cerrado, incluindo os Estados de Goias, Tocantins, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul e Bahia, abrangendo 109 matrizes de 35 populacoes das variedades botânicas pubescens, gardneri, speciosa e cuyabensis. Os resultados mostraram que, nas condicoes do Cerrado, as matrizes de H. speciosa apresentam elevados niveis de variacao fenotipica quanto a caracteres de frutos, sendo que a maioria dessas variacoes esta entre populacoes. Ha, tambem, uma grande variacao fenotipica dentro das variedades botânicas. H. speciosa var. gardneri e H. speciosa var. pubescens tem frutos maiores e mais pesados. A variedade botânica gardneri apresenta porte mais alto que as demais. Nas variedades gardneri e pubescens, predominam frutos redondos e verde-claros, enquanto em speciosa e cuyabensis predominam frutos de formato oblongo e coloracao amarelo-escura e verde-escura, respectivamente. As variedades gardneri e pubescens destacam-se como de maior potencial para a selecao baseada em caracteres de tamanho e massa dos frutos.

Moscas-das-frutas (Diptera, Tephritidae) no Estado de Goiás: ocorrência e distribuição

The Goias State, in Brazil, presents a high number of host plant species for fruit flies , whose fruits ripen at different seasons, providing an increase in the pest population density and its wide distribution . Throughout the Goias State, fruit flies occur in high or low frequency, both in rural and urban areas . Besides the Mediterranean fruit fly ( Ceratitis capitata ), 21 species of Anastrepha flies are currently known, mainly A. obliqua , A. fraterculus , A. sororcula and A. zenildae , due to their economic importance, and A. grandis , for being a quarantine pest . The A. grandis species has been recorded in 13 cities in the Goias State , however, this information does not preclude the fruits export programs implemented in the State, because it was observed, in the production units, that the FTD index (flies trap -1 day -1 ) was lower than 0.1 , in accordance with the rates established by the Brazilian legislation , for the export of cucurbit fruits .

PRODUÇÃO DE FRUTOS DE POPULAÇÕES NATURAIS DE PEQUIZEIRO NO ESTADO DE GOIÁS

ABSTRACTThe pequi tree is a native species from the Brazilian Cerrado (Neotropical Savanna) with economic and cultural importance for local human population, needing however, techniques that make possible the implantation of orchards, its conduction and the harvest of fruits, as a tool for reducing the pressure on the natural environment, as well as the maintenance of the regional culture. The present study aimed to characterize the production of pequi trees of natural occurrence in fifteen dispersed populations in five regions of the state of Goias, Brazil. The “Pequizeiro” differed significantly in three years of production in the State of Goias, with an average of 132 fruits per plant and yield of the projected area of the canopy of 1.64 fruits m-2. The three most productive populations have characteristics in common as the vigor by being located in an open environment and by presenting the beginning of the canopy closer to the ground. It is concluded that the production of “pequizeiro” in the state of the Goias, shows great variability among crops, plants and populations, usually low, but there are promising plants for future breeding programs.
