This paper aims to explore the conceptual and constitutive potential of metaphors in journalistic texts dealing with the global economic crisis. The corpus analysis is based on ca. 120 economic texts from online versions of Handelsblatt, Der Spiegel, il Sole 24 Ore and il Corriere della Sera. It focuses on the most recurrent conceptual metaphors in a contrastive perspective, and investigates convergence and divergence in the metaphoricity of German and Ital ian texts.

Fingierte Mündlichkeit und Übersetzen

Abstract This paper explores the problems related to the translation of some stilistic means in recent Italian prose, i. e. segments of orality integrated in the original literary narrative. The linguistic analysis, based on a corpus composed of two Italian novels (published in 2010 and 2012 respectively) and their French and German translations, focuses on selected lexical, syntactic and information-structural features and their translations. The first observations tend to confirm some former findings, illustrating the heterogeneity of orality-markers in the originals beside the general trend towards a more or less obvious stylistic attenuation in the target text, but there are also significant interlinguistic differences in the approach to the original text. Furthermore, the discussion of some examples demonstrates how results in linguistic research could provide precious assistance in the translation of orality – if they were accessible in specialised reference works.

Holistisches Modell der kontrastiven Textologie in der wissenschaftlichen Translationslehre

The study illustrates how the Holistic Model of Contrastive Textology, which has been previously developed, presented and applied to various texts of corporate communication in order to amplify the methodological instruments of the contrastive textology, can be applied to courses in professional translation (German-Italian/Italian-German). The central question of the study is how the Model can be used to sensibilize students for a multidimensional comparison of authentic texts in different languages and a comparison between source and target texts. Textsorten und Textarbeit in Lehrwerken für Wirtschaftsdeutsch

Zusammenfassung Im vorliegenden Beitrag geht es um die Fachsprache »Wirtschaftsdeutsch« als Lehrund Lerngegenstand in den aktuellen Lehrwerken. Im Zentrum des Interesses stehen die schriftliche Wirtschaftskommunikation und in diesem Zusammenhang die Fragen, welche Textsorten die untersuchten Lehrwerke anbieten, ob und auf welche Art und Weise sie den Lerner für fachspezifische Textsortenmerkmale sensibilisieren, inwieweit sie fachliches Hintergrundwissen darbieten und interkulturelle Kompetenzen fördern und schließlich die Frage ihrer Einsetzbarkeit in der Fachübersetzerausbildung.
