The geographic distribution of Sphaenorhynchus lacteus comprises Amazon and Orinoco basins of South America, Guianas, eastern Brazil and Trinidad. Herein, we report for the first time the occurrence of Sphaenorhynchus lacteus and of the genus for the state of Piaui.

The geographic distribution of Dendropsophus rubicundulus includes Bolivia, Brazil (southeastern, central-west, northeastern and northern regions) and Paraguay. We report the second record of D. rubicundulus in Ceara state, increasing the distribution range of the species in northeastern Brazil.

In this study, we present the first record of Rhinella ocellata (Gunther, 1858) for the state of Maranhao and for coastal ecosystems “restinga environments” in Brazil. This note also expands the known geographic distribution of this species by approximately 895 km to the north from the closest record located in the Parque Estadual do Jalapao (10°32′59″ S, 46°45′38″ W), state of Tocantins, contributing to the knowledge of the anurofauna in the state of Maranhao.

Sphaenorhynchus prasinus is a medium sized frog belonging to the genus. The geographic distribution comprises southeast and northeast of Brazil. Herein, we report for the first time the occurrence of Sphaenorhynchus prasinus and of the genus is the State of Alagoas.

The genus Physalaemus is widely distributed over South America, east of Andes. Physalaemus cicada belongs to the Physalaemus cuvieri group, is widely distributed over the Caatinga and is usually found in lentic and/or temporary water bodies. Herein, we extend its geographical distribution providing the first record of Physalaemus cicada for Piaui state, in the municipality of Picos.

Scinax tripui is a medium sized frog that belongs to the Scinax catharinae clade. We provide a new record of Scinax tripui from Serra de Torres, Espirito Santo state, southeastern Brazil. This is the first record outside the specie’s type locality (Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais) and the first record from the state of Espirito Santo.
