Study on supply chain disruption risk management strategies and model

Guojun Ji; Caihong Zhu

In this paper, the reasons that make a supply chain vulnerable to disruption risks are analyzed; the necessity and significance of developing supply chain disruption risk management strategies that have direct impacts on the effectiveness of supply chain disruption risk management is discussed, combined with the practice of China. Considering the characteristics of disruption risks, the supply chain disruption risk management strategies with the properties of efficiency and resilience are developed and analyzed, and related with actual practice, which include supply management strategies, supply management strategies, product management strategies and information management strategies. And then, in order to offer decision-making support for adopting reasonable strategies, a mathematical model is developed.

Effects of rival whistle-blowing on green product innovation

Guojun Ji; Guangyong Yang; Tieming Liu

Green product innovation focused on environment and consumers benefits is increasing becoming an efficient sustainable strategy for firm and supply chain. Consumer can pay substantial premium for green innovative product, greenness itself is not a well-defined concept, and detecting violation of green innovation is very difficulty for consumer and government, all these induce free rider and green deceptive marketing behavior of firm. We study effects of rival whistle-blowing on green product innovation. We find that from maintaining market share perspective, the optimal decision for firm is to accept the violation of green innovation report from competitor, whereas from short term expected profits perspective, whether firm accepts violation report depends on bargain power of transfer payment between competitor and firm. But from long term sustainable perspective, firm should improve quality of green innovation rather than green deceptive marketing.

Study on the performance evaluation of sustainable tourism supply chain based on balanced scorecard

Guojun Ji; Bingrong Guo

the resources of tourism limit the expansion of tourism industry. Only sustainable development strategy can help it develop healthily. This paper compares the development of tourism industry in China and other countries and discusses strategy of the sustainable tourism supply chain with tourism service agency as the core enterprise. Finally, a framework of performance evaluation indexes of the tourism supply chain is given by using balanced scorecard.

Evolution of innovation and its strategies: from ecological niche models of supply chain clusters

Guojun Ji; Angappa Gunasekaran

Generally, supply chain cluster (SCC) evolution follows innovation and its selection strategies. To further reduce the innovation risk, SCC must seek the feasible innovation strategies to match ecological niche-matching degree; within a competing cluster, it should avoid the hazardous nature of pure competition that affects the innovation output, and within a cooperation innovation cluster it should look carefully for the cooperation innovation mechanism. This paper examines the impact of growth of SCC from a perspective of ecological niche, the innovation strategy and the expansion of ecological niche, and its matching degree on the influence of the growth in SCC; and presents the ecological niche expansion model, growth model and growth evolution model of SCC. The findings of this research suggest that there is a five-stage evolution of which the characteristic is different in different innovation strategies. The ecological niche width of SCC is connected by each member’s ecological niche, and the expansion process is constituted by the members’ ecological niche expansion. In each stage, SCC should identify ecological niche-matching degree between members and innovation modes when the SCC expands the niche width to a certain limit. Finally, a case study demonstrates the application potential of the model and its implications.

Research on the security of cold-chain logistics

Guojun Ji; Rong Guo

In this paper, the definition of cold-chain logistics and security features are analyzed. Based on overview of Chinas cold-chain logistics, cold chain, through the status quo at home and abroad contrast, we present some of Chinas food chain problems. With security control system of thought, and risk management theory, the establishment of a more comprehensive evaluation of cold chain logistics system, through a cold-chain business case analysis, put forward suggestions to solve a few cold-chain logistics security strategy.

Study on supply chain disruption risk

Ting Chen; Guojun Ji

Based on the reasons why supply chain disruption happened are different, one is about exterior factor; the other is supply chain itself, the types of disruption are not same. The paper divide the types into five: supply disruption, demand disruption, transport disruption, communication disruption, and production disruption. Then many policies and measures are given to kinds of disruption. Finally, based the cost it is decided if this measure or policy is carried out through modeling to maximize profit.

Study on 4PL as coordinating and constructing agent for supply chain system — A transaction cost theory approach

Guojun Ji

This paper introduces a new mathematical model for analyzing the economic benefits of incorporating 4PL, which is a contractor (i.e. agent) for the supply chain coordination and construction based on the division of community and the outsourcing development. The mathematical model enriches the connotation of 4PL and it broadens the thought for 4PL development. Secondly, the proposed mathematical model predicated on transaction costs, is supported by Transaction Cost Theory (TCT) and acts as the theoretical analysis tool of 4PL for coordinating 3-party generic supply chain. Through the model, some trendy conclusions can be drawn to provide theoretical support for 4PLpsilas practices.

Market-driven value delivery systems - a case study

Guojun Ji

A value delivery system exists to create value for customers by supplying needed products and services. Value delivery systems are at the heart of every firm and, more than anything else, determine whether the firm survives in the marketplace or disappear into bankruptcy or takeover. The processes and model of market-driven value delivery system are discussed in this paper, and the processes content and model are presented, one case study of the learning and improvement system-based on the case of Duct Manufacturing Center was considered that presented some the advantages based on market-driven value.

Service value delivery system based on time-based competition

Guojun Ji

In this paper, the necessary conditions and the components of the operation of service value delivery system are analyzed; the every node enterprise to make clear that the function of each of them in service value creation and addition is discussed. The processes and model of market-driven value delivery system are discussed in this paper, and the processes content and model are presented, we firstly discuss the operational flowchart and classification of the service value delivery under the time-based competition environment. Secondly, we analyze the tactics of time-based competition in supply chain system and the marketing system, both of which compose the whole service value delivery system.

The formation of ecological supply chain based on by-product exchange

Guojun Ji; Ruxiu Zhang

Ecological supply chain is an improvement to traditional supply chain according to ecological thinking. There are four sub-systems in ecological supply chain, i.e. production system, consumption system, social system and environmental system. The formation of ecological supply chain is the interacting result of various factors, which not only include pressures from government, customer and other stakeholders, but the impetuses from firms and the system itself. The cooperation processing based on by-products exchange is discussed with the decision-making criterion of eco-efficiency maximization. Accordingly, a pricing model is given.
