This note consists of two parts. A brief account of these two parts is given in the two opening paragraphs of the paper which precede the detailed work. The object of part I is to consider the application, to the quadrangular figure studied by Hessenberg in 1901, of a method of approaching the axioms of projective geometry. The object of part II is to examine a method which has been put forward for a geometrical introduction of co-ordinates. The method referred to above, used in part I, is seen to be of use.
