Low-frequency excitations in Rb3C60 and Rb6C60

H. Schober; B. Renker; F. Gompf

Abstract We present inelastic neutron scattering results for Rb3C60 and Rb6C60 covering the energy region from 0.5 to 14 meV. The different contributions to the spectra (translational, libronic, Rb-vibrations) are discussed on the basis of their Q and temperature dependence. In superconducting Rb3C60 the scattering intensity observed in the range from 1.5 to 3.5 meV changes anomalously with temperature. No such behaviour is found in insulating Rb6C60.

Fingerprints of solid-state chemical reactions in the dynamics of fullerenes

B. Renker; H. Schober; Rolf Heid; M Braden

Excitation spectra of polymerized fullerides such as RbC60, Na4C60 and pressurized C60 are studied by inelastic neutron scattering and Raman spectroscopy in view of differences in the interfulleren ...

Microscopic dynamics of C60-polymers

B. Renker; H. Schober; Sergei Lebedkin

Abstract We present inelastic neutron and Raman scattering results of polymerized fullerides with charge transfer as A 1 C 60 , Na 4 C 60 , and different high pressure phases of pristine C 60 . The spectrum of interfullerene vibrations as well as particular intramolecular modes are shown to depend strongly on the symmetry and type of C-C bonds joining neighboring molecules. A detailed analysis is performed by means of model calculations.

Dynamics and phase transitions in A1C60 compounds

H. Schober; B. Renker; Rolf Heid; A. Tölle

Abstract We present an overview of extensive inelastic neutron scattering experiments carried out on powders of A 1 C 60 . The various phases leave strong fingerprints in the microscopic dynamics confirming the solid-state chemical reactions. The strong kinetic phase transitions can be followed in real time and turn out to be highly complex.
