A cavity-backed slot array antenna using a single waveguide fed sub-array is presented. A subarray consists of 2/spl times/4 slot elements backed by a single cavity. By proper choice of dimensions it is shown that the proposed antenna has characteristics of high radiation efficiency and broad frequency bandwidth. Antenna characteristics for the array antenna with 256 elements are measured in Ku-band.

In this work, we have used the opened waveguide cavity to enhance the isolation. The proposed reflector with the donor and receptor antenna satisfied the isolation, more than 80 dB as well as the gain and return loss of the antennas. Also the size of the reflector is reduced considerably compared with conventional reflectors.

In this paper, a dual frequency antenna with meandering slots is proposed. The effects of every slot of the proposed antenna are analyzed in detail using FEM. The proposed antenna has with an air-layer substrate of 13 mm and covers the required bandwidths of the GSM and WCDMA systems. The proposed antenna is especially suited for application in wireless communication repeater systems.

A novel folded and bended internal loop antenna (FABILA) with wide bandwidth for GPS and PCS bands is proposed and designed. This single-feed antenna incorporates two shorting pins to be small, compact, highly efficient, and low profile. By carefully choosing the type, substrate thickness, and position of antenna relative to other metallic objects on the printed circuit board, a wider impedance band (470 MHz) is achieved with minimum occupied volume, which fully covers the frequency range for the GPS and PCS bands. The proposed antenna has maximum gain of 3 dBi and average gain of -2 dBi.
