Phase equilibria in the binary system lead fluoride [PbF2]-calcium fluoride [CaF2]

The phase diagram of the binary system lead fluoride [PbF2]-calcium fluoride [CaF2] was determined over the whole composition range. The investigations were carried out by means of thermal microscopic, X-ray and dilatometric analyses. It was concluded that the components did not form chemical compounds.

Phase equilibria in the ternary system PbO-P2O5-PbCl2. IV: The partial system Pb5Cl2O4-Pb3Cl2O2-Pb10(PO4)6Cl2

Phase dependencies in the ternary system Pb3Cl2O2−PbCl2−Pb10(PO4)6Cl2, which is a partial system of the ternary system PbO−P2O5−PbCl2, have been investigated by thermal, X-ray phase, microscopic, dilatometric and IR absorption analyses. The phase diagram of the Pb3Cl2O2−PbCl2−Pb10(PO4)6Cl2 system has been provided. The components have been found not to form any new chemical compounds.ZusammenfassungMittels thermischer, röntgenographischer, mikroskopischer, dilatometrischer und IR-Absorptionsanalyse wurden Phasenabhängigkeiten im ternären System Pb3Cl2O2−PbCl2−Pb10(PO4)6Cl2 als Teilsystem des ternären Systemes PbO−Pb2O5−PbCl2 untersucht. Das Phasendiagramm für das System Pb3Cl2O2−PbCl2−Pb10(PO4)6Cl2 wurde entwickelt. Man fand, daß die Komponenten keinerlei neue chemische Verbindungen bilden.

The partial system Pb3(PO4)2−P2O5−PbCl2

The present research proved that no stable compounds are formed in the partial ternary system Pb3(PO4)2−P2O5−PbCl2 of the ternary system PbO−P2O5−PbCl2. Reactions which may proceed in this partial system were considered theoretically. Examinations were performed by thermal, X-ray and chemical analyses.ZusammenfassungVorliegende Arbeit zeigt, daß in dem partiellen ternären System Pb3(PO4)2−P2O5−PbCl2 des ternären Systemes PbO−P2O5−PbCl2 keine stabilen Verbindungen gebildet werden. Reaktionen, die in diesem partiellen System ablaufen können, wurden für rein theoretisch befunden. Die Untersuchung erfolgte durch thermische, Röntgen- und chemische Analyse.

Preparation and crystal studies of new modifications of PbF2

Abstract Possibilities of synthesizing mixed crystals of PbxCd1−xF2 from aqueous solution have been examined. Identification of the products was carried out by phase X-ray analysis, atomic absorption spectroscopy, thermal and microscopic methods. A new modification of PbF2 has been obtained which crystallizes in the hexagonal system in space group P6 with lattice parameters a = 10.270(4) A and c = 7.970(5) A .
