SEPARATION METHODS AND EXTRACTING TECHNIQUES OF BAICALIN

Baicalin is one of the main ingredients with activity in Scutellaria baicalensis Georg. How to improve the yield and content of Baicalin in the extracting process is always a problem in production. The effect of three traditional extracting methods (controlled temperature water immersing, decoction and controlled temperature alkali added water immersing method) on the yield and content of Baicalin were studied. The characteristic of easy solubility under alkaline conditions of Baicalin, the extracting effect and process of Baicalin by means of alkali ion function water are compared. The result shows that the alkali ion function water method is better than that of traditional methods in terms of yield and content of Baicalin. In addition to the effect of different methods of removing impurities, the acidity deposit method and the washing deposit method on improving yield and content of Baicalin were also studied in detail.

STUDY ON EXTRACTING TECHNIQUES OF ASTRAGALAN POLYSACCHARIDE (ASP) AND ASTRAGALOSIDE (AS)

Astragalan Polysaccharide (ASP) and Astragaloside (AS) are two main ingredients with activity in Scutellaria Astragalan. In order to extract ASP and AS at the same time, the extracting technology is studied. The optimum times and concentrations of ethanol were determined in ethanol extraction followed by water extraction method. In addition, the higher yield and content of ASP and AS were obtained through combining ultra filtration and the resin absorption method.
