Phosphine-Catalyzed Enantioselective [2+4] Cycloaddition to Synthesize Pyrrolidin-2-one Fused Dihydropyrans Using α-Substituted Allenoates as C2 Synthons

A bifunctional phosphine-catalyzed highly enantioselective [2+4] cycloaddition of α-substituted allenoates with (E)-1-benzyl-4-olefinicpyrrolidine-2,3-diones has been achieved, giving pyrrolidin-2-one fused dihydropyran derivatives in moderate to good yields with excellent enantioselectivities (up to 98% ee). This reaction provides a useful catalytic asymmetric access to dihydropyran structural motifs.

Synthesis of Spirobidihydropyrazole through Double 1,3-Dipolar Cycloaddition of Nitrilimines with Allenoates

The double 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of allenoates with nitrilimines has been achieved under mild reaction conditions, affording a variety of spirobidihydropyrazoles in moderate to excellent yields with excellent diastereoselectivities. The reaction diastereoselectively constructs double dihydropyrazole moieties and two chiral centers including a spiro carbon center.

Tandem [3 + 2] Cycloaddition/1,4-Addition Reaction of Azomethine Ylides and Aza-o-quinone Methides for Asymmetric Synthesis of Imidazolidines

An enantioselective synthesis of biologically important imidazolidines has been achieved via a tandem [3 + 2] cycloaddition/1,4-addition reaction of azomethine ylide and aza-o-quinone methides. With the use of this tool, various imidazolidine derivatives are obtained in good yields with excellent diastereoselectivities and enantioselectivities.

Palladium-Catalyzed [5 + 2] Cycloaddition of Vinyloxiranes with Sulfamate-Derived Cyclic Imines To Construct 1,3-Oxazepine Heterocycles

Palladium-catalyzed [5 + 2] cycloaddition of 2-aryl-2-vinyloxiranes with sulfamate-derived cyclic imines is described. The zwitterionic allylpalladium intermediates act as five-membered synthon to react with sulfamate-derived cyclic imines to furnish [5 + 2] cycloaddition, giving 1,3-oxazepine derivatives in moderate to excellent yields with excellent regioselectivities.

Nickel(II)-Catalyzed [8 + 3]-Cycloaddition of 2-Aryl-N-tosylaziridines with Tropone

The Ni-catalyzed [8 + 3]-cycloaddition of tropone with 2-aryl- N-tosylaziridines proceeded smoothly under mild reaction conditions, affording various 4-tosyl-2,3,4,4a-tetrahydrocyclohepta[ b][1,4]oxazine derivatives in moderate to excellent yields.

A [4 + 3] Annulation Reaction of aza-o-Quinone Methides with Arylcarbohydrazonoyl Chlorides for Synthesis of 2,3-Dihydro-1H-benzo[e][1,2,4]triazepines

An unprecedented [4 + 3] annulation reaction of aza- ortho-quinone methides with arylcarbohydrazonoyl chlorides has been achieved under mild conditions. The annulation underwent a sequential conjugate addition/intramolecular annulation/rearrangement, providing a useful method for the synthesis of biologically interesting 2,3-dihydro-1 H-benzo[ e][1,2,4]triazepine.

Asymmetric [3 + 3] Annulation of Copper–Allenylidenes with Pyrazolones: Synthesis of Chiral 1,4-Dihydropyrano[2,3-c]pyrazoles

The copper-catalyzed asymmetric [3 + 3] annulation of ethynyl benzoxazinanones with pyrazolones has been achieved, providing simple access to 1,4-dihydropyrano[2,3- c]pyrazole derivatives in moderate to excellent yields with excellent enantioselectivities (up to 99% ee). Compared with previous annulation reactions of copper-allenylidenes from ethynyl benzoxazinanones, the current reaction fused the three carbon atoms of the propargyl moiety into a heterocyclic framework.
