Preparation of PTFE Nanosphere with the Assistant of Modified Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes

PTFE nanospheres have been obtained with the assistant of different multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) by means of a simple preparation method. The results show that the PTFE nanospheres possess the best dispersion stability using the fluorocarbon-modified MWNTs as the assistant. The products are characterized by field-emission scanning electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, respectively.

Effect of Zn addition on microstructure of Sn-Bi joint

Zn was added into Sn-Bi solder to investigate the effect of Zn on the microstructure of the alloy. Zn addition was found to refine and redistribute the Bi-rich phase. With Zn addition, a different intermetallic compound, Cu5Zn8 was formed at the Sn-Bi-Zn/Cu interface upon reflow. After aging, the Bi segregation was not observed at the Sn-Bi-Zn/Cu interface while a continuous Bi segregation layer appeared in the Sn-Bi/Cu interface. The Zn addition into the solder freed Sn near the interface from interfacial reaction, which suppressed the occurrence of Bi segregation layer.

Hydrothermal Synthesis of Regular Octahedron Fe3O4 Microcrystals

Regular octahedron Fe3O4 microcrystals have been synthesized by a hydrothermal process on a large scale directly Fe substrates for the first time. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) have been used to investigate the novel fractal microcrystals. The results show that the regular octahedron Fe3O4 microcrystals can be obtained using this simple method. The size of microcrystals is evaluated to be from 2 to 20 μm. Moreover, one key fact has been found that the reaction temperature has a vital effect on the morphologies of the products.
