Non-isothermal crystallization,melting and thermal degradation behaviors of LLDPE/nano-CaCO 3

Nano-CaCO<inf>3</inf> was filled into liner low density polyethylene (LLDPE) by melt-blending process. The non-isothermal crystallization,melting and thermal degradation behaviors of LLDPE/nano-CaCO<inf>3</inf> composites were researched by means of DSC. The result showed: In compared with pure LLDPE, both non-isothermal crystallization peak onset tempreture (T<inf>o</inf>) and non-isothermal crystallization peak tempreture (T<inf>p</inf>) of LLDPE/nano-CaCO<inf>3</inf> composites were increased, the maximum value of T<inf>o</inf> and T<inf>p</inf> were increased 1.72 °C and 1.59 °C respectively; the maximum value of melting peak tempreture of LLDPE/nano-CaCO<inf>3</inf> composites increased 2.31 °C;In the process of thermal degradation, the thermodynamic stability of LLDPE/nano-CaCO<inf>3</inf> composites increase with increase of dosages of nano-CaCO<inf>3</inf>. when the content of nano-CaCO<inf>3</inf> was 15%, the tempreture (T<inf>o</inf>)at 5% weight loss and the tempreture (T<inf>d</inf>) at the most ratio of losing weight increased 2.51°C, 4.32 °C respectively, the most ratio of losing weight increased 0.05%/min.
