Two new chiral calixarenes were synthesized by condensing 1,3-bis-chlorocarbomethyl-calix[4] arenes with (1S, 2S)-2-amino-1-(4-nitrophenyl)-1,3-propanediol, a by-product from antibiotic industry, and were characterized by1H-NMR, MS-FAB, and elemental analysis. The1H-NMR spectra show that those molecules assume a cone conformation in solution.

Porous spherical cellulose composites coated by aluminum (III) oxide and silicone: Preparation, characterization and adsorption behavior

Meng Ling-zhi; Du Chuan-qing; Chen Yuanyin; He Yong-bing; Jiang Juan; Wan Shu-hui

Porous spherical cellulose composite (PSCA) coated by aluminum (III) oxide was prepared and modified by organosilicone. SEM images of the surface morphology of the bead cellulose shows that it has spherical shape and abundant porous structure on its surface. The mapping images, of aluminum and silicon of the composite (PSCAS) present aluminum (III) oxide and silicone are uniformly dispersed on the surface. The adsorption behavior of PSCAS toward metal ions was determined.

Cellulose Beads Modified by Histidine:Preparation and Adsorption Behavior

He Yong-bing; Fu Zhao-lin; Meng Ling-zhi; Chen Yuanyin

Porous cellulose beads modified by histidine (PCBH) were prepared. The adsorption capacity of PCBH for divalent Mg(II), Cu(II), Pb(II) and Hg(II) ions were determined. The effects of the temperature, the initial pH value, the concentration of metal ion and PCBH ligand on the adsorption of Cu(II) Hg (II) were discussed. The adsorption process fitted to Freundlich adsorption isotherms for both metal ions. Adsorption rate constants were also found.

Synthesis and characterization of new calix[4]arene amino acid ester derivatives and their metal extraction properties

Meng Ling-zhi; Huang Huang; He Yong-bing; Chen Yuanyin

A new type of calix[4]arenes containing amino acid ester derivatives has been synthesized. Their1H NMR characteristics are discussed. Metal ion extraction experimental has shown that calix[4]arene amino acid esters (2a, 2b) possess good extraction efficiency for transition metal ions (Cu2+, Ni2+, Zn2+) and poor extraction efficiency for alkali metal ions (Na+, K+).

Research on improving unit thermal efficiency based on absorption heat pump by reducing the circulating water temperature

He Yong-bing; Wu Shijing; Wang Jixuan

The system of regenerator cycle based on absorption heat pump, through heating up the feed water by the heat from the circulating cooling water by the absorption of the steam driving absorption heat pump, can reduce the temperature of the circulating water and exhaust steam pressure, thus to improve the thermal efficiency of the unit eventually. In this paper, based on the 30MW absorption heat pump which is successfully used in the market, calculation model is presented. Whats more, by studying on supercritical 600MW units, the influence on the unit efficiency based on absorption heat pump by reducing the temperature of circulating cooling water with waste heat utilization is analyzed.

The synthesis of a fluorescent chemosensor containing two thiourea groups and its recognition behavior for dicarboxylate anions

Wang Fa-jun; Liu Shun‐Ying; Hu Ling; Liu Xin; He Yong-bing

A novel anion receptor2 bearing anthracene flurophore and thiourea was synthesized and identified by1H NMR, MS, IR and elemental analysis. The interaction between receptor2 and various α, ω-dicarboxylate anions was studied by fluorescence spectrum. The obtained fluorescence data indicate that 1∶1 stoichiometry complex is formed between receptor2 with diferent dicarboxylate anions through a hydrogen-bonging interaction. The selectivity of2 for recognition of different dicarboxylates deponds on chain length of the anionic species.

A new type of dibenzoyl tartaric acid selective electrode based on polymer membrane containing calix[4]arene ionophore

Meng Ling-zhi; Mei Gong-xiong; He Yong-bing; Li Jiang-feng

A new type of dibenzoyl tartaric acid selective electrode has been developed. Three double-arm calix[4]arene derivatives were employed as the neutral ionophores. The poly(vinyl chloride) membrane electrode containing an amide derivative of calix[4]arene as the neutral carrier and a dibutyl phthalate as the plasticizer exhibited the highest sensitivity for dibenzoyl tartaric acid. The slope of linear portion was 27.8 mV per concertration decade. The electrode has a fast response and a long lifetime.

Synthesis of a New Type Tetraamides Bridged Calix[4]arene

Xiao Yuan-jing; He Yong-bing; Mei Gong-xiong; Wang Fa-jun; Meng Lin-zhi; Wu Chengtai

Two new tetraamides bridged calix[4]arenes were synthesized by the condensation reaction of 1,3-bis-chlorocarbonylmethyl p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene with 1,2-bis (2′-amino-2′-methylpropanamido) benzene or 1,2-bis (2′-amino-2′-methylpropanamido)-4,5-dichloro benzene, respectively. The new compounds were characterized by1H-NMR, MS-FAB, and elemental analysis; macrocyclic polyamine.
