Perfluorocycloalkyl(aryl) diazenes from heptafluoronitrosocyclobutane and nonafluoronitrosocyclopentane

Abstract The perfluoronitrosocycloalkanes, heptafluoronitrosocyclobutane and nonafluoronitrosocyclopentane, are convenient precursors to a family of new perfluorocycloalkyl(aryl) diazenes. With aniline and o -aminobenzamide, CF 2 (CF 2 ) x C FNN C(CH) 4 C H and CF 2 (CF 2 ) x C FNN C(CH) 4 C C(O)NH 2 (x = 2,3) are formed. Additionally, heptafluoronitrosocyclobutane gives CF 2 (CF 2 ) 2 C FNN CCFCFCHCFC F and CF 2 (CF 2 ) 2 C FNN C(CH) 4 C NH 2 with 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoroaniline and o -phenylenediamine

Sulfur derivatives of N-chloro compounds

Abstract The reactions of chlorine monofluoride with perfluoroalkyl- and perfluoroacyliminosulfur difluorides are known to give perfluoroalkyldichloroamines and N,N-dichlorofluoroamides, via the elimination of sulfur tetrafluoride, e.g., We now find that the reactions of iminosulfites with chlorine monofluoride take a surprisingly different route to give cis and trans isomers of the sulfur(VI) derivatives while eliminating chlorine and trifluoromethyldichloroamine.

Synthesis and reactions of nitroso F-cyclobutane and nitroso F-cyclopentane

Abstract The intense blue nitroso F-cyclobutane and nitroso F-cyclopentane result when F-cyclobutene and F-cyclopentene are reacted with nitrosyl fluoride in the presence of KF in tetramethylene sulfone. With primary amines, white crystalline solids which sublime at 25°C in vacuo are formed with each of the cyclic nitrosos. Spectral data and elemental analysis support the expansion of the butane and the pentane rings to six and seven members, respectively. Heating at 40° C with tetrafluoroethylene gives N-(F-cyclobutyl)-F-oxazetidine and N-(F-cyclopentyl)-F-oxazetidine.
