This paper introduces the Band Exploration and Channel Sounding System (BECS) as a prototype of 2x8 MIMO wireless channel sounder, which is under developing in ETRI to explore wideband channel and frequency characteristics at 2.6 GHz. Engineering parameters for the BECS implementation are presented and the sounder system response is obtained and analyzed using the hardware channel simulator, Elektrobit PROPsim ® . The impact of imperfect system response on rms delay spread is analyzed using the 3GPP Spatial Channel Model (SCM). Based on Monte-Carlo simulations generating multiple ensembles of the wireless channel, it is found that rms delay spreads measured by the sounder do not depend on the sounder impairment such as the bell-shaped system response induced from RRC filter, and the equalized matched filter technique can improve the delay resolution against the imperfect system response

This paper presents multipath channel parameters acquiring from wideband Multiple-Input Multiple Output (MIMO) channel measurement at 3.705GHz carrier frequency. The wideband MIMO channel sounder was used to measure MIMO radio channel characteristics. The channel measurement campaign was performed in the Seoul rail-way station where is a representative indoor hotspot region of Korea. The measurement campaigns were carried out at peak time and at off-peak time, respectively. Each measurement scenario includes both line of sight (LoS) points and non-line of sight (NLoS) points. The numerical results of channel characteristics such as root mean square delay spread, maximum excess delay, angular spread of arrival and angular spread of departure are presented.

This paper presents a development of a RF system for the application specific message 2.0 (ASM2.0) which is a new maritime communication service in the VHF band. It contains a specification determination related to a RF system, some design points to support a complex modulation scheme for high-data-rate, and the implementation results. And, performances linked with a baseband (BB) system are also described.
