The Study on the Characteristics of Pellets Manufactured with Morphologically Different Domestic Larix Kaemferi Carr Sawdust

morphologically different Larix Kaemferi Carr sawdust. The pellet characteristics included moisture contents satisfied the first grade (less than 10%) of quality standard of wood pellets announced by Korea Forest Research Institute. Densities were also adequate for the first grade (640kg/) on the quality standard and there was no large difference in other characteristics of pellets, however, pellets manufactured with planer shavings had the highest density. Ash contents also passed the first grade (less than 0.7) of quality standard. But bark pellet exceeded the second grade (1.5%) in ash content. Lower absorption ratio of bark pellet showed the effect on hygroscpicity. The heating value of the manufactured wood pellets in this study exceeded the first grade of quality standard(more than 4,300 kcal/kg).

A Study on Productivity and Quality Characteristics of Wood Pellets by Larix Kaemferi Carr Sawdust with Adding Vegetable Oil and Ozonized Vegetable Oil

본 연구에서는 국내 수종 중 낙엽송(Larix kaemferi Carr)을 대상으로 하여 콩기름, 폐콩기름, 오존산화 콩기름, 오존산화 폐콩기름을 첨가하여 제조된 목재펠릿의 특성변화를 조사하였다. 제조된 펠릿의 함수율, 발열량, 회분, 겉보기밀도, 내구성, 흡습률, 원소분석을 측정하여 비교하였다. 펠릿제품의 함수율은 7.66~9.48%로 나타나 목재펠릿의 품질기준 1급인 10% 이하를 만족시켰고, 제조된 각 펠릿의 발열량 측정결과 품질기준(1급) 4,300 kcal/kg을 모두 넘었으며, 기름을 첨가한 모든 펠릿이 대조구보다 높은 발열량을 나타냈다. 회분은 0.34~0.42%로 품질규격 1급인 0.7% 미만의 범주에 속한 것으로 나타났으며, 제조된 펠릿 모두가 겉보기 밀도 품질 기준 1급(640 kg/m3)을 만족시켰다. 내구성은 콩기름을 첨가한 펠릿, 오존산화 폐콩기름을 첨가한 펠릿이 품질 기준1급(97.5% 이상)을 만족하였다. 전체적인 결과의 흐름을 보았을 때 첨가제를 첨가한 펠릿이 무첨가 펠릿보다 내구성이 좋게 나타났다. 흡습률은 24시간 후 흡습률 시험에서 첨가제를 첨가한 펠릿이 모두 무첨가 펠릿보다 낮은 흡습률을 나타냈으며, 5일 경과 후에도 무첨가 펠릿 보다 첨가제를 첨가한 펠릿이 모두 흡습률 감소 현상을 보였다. 원소분석은 황의 함유량이 목재펠릿의 품질기준 1급(0.05%) 이하를 만족시켰고, 질소 함유량 역시 목재펠릿의 품질기준 1급(0.3%) 이하를 만족시켰다.

Effect of Different Chemical and Physical Characteristic Having Lignocellulosic Fibers on Heavy Metal Ion Removal from Auqueous Solution

In this study lignocellulosic fibers, such as kenaf bast, kenaf core, sugar cane bagasse, cotton, coconut coir, and spruce, which are environment friendly natural materials, were tested for their ability to remove copper, nickel and zinc ions from aqueous solutions. The fibers were analyzed for Klason lignin content, water sorption capacity and dry volume. The fiber with the highest level of heavy metal removal in the separate and mixed solution was kenaf bast.. In the mixed solution kenaf bast, sugar cane bagasse and cotton removed more copper and nickel ion than in the separate solution, and the amounts of removed heavy metal ions were changed in some lignocellulosic fibers, compared to those of the separate solution. In the mixed solution heavy metal ions may compete with one another for sorption sites on the surface of lignocellusic fiber. In kenaf bast to remove heavy metal ions most, Klason lignin content was the second lowest, and water sorption and dry volume were the lowest in all tested lignocellulosic fibers. It showed that removal of heavy metal ions does not correlate with any chemical and physical factors, but may be affected by the cell wall structure of lignocellulosic fibers and how many free phenolic groups in lignin, which are considered as the heavy metal ion binding site, are exposed on the surface of fibers. Cotton, with about 1% Klason lignin, was very low in heavy metal ion removal, while all other fibers containing greater than about 10% lignin did remove heavy metal ions. It showed that even the lignin content of lignocellulosic fibers does not correlate with heavy metal ion removal but lignin does play a role in heavy metal ion removal.

Comparison of Quality Characteristics of Woodpellet Manufactured from Pinus densiflora S. et Z. and Pinus rigida Mill

목질 바이오매스 자원의 효율적 에너지화 방안의 일환으로 소나무와 리기다소나무를 목재펠릿으로 만들고, 그 특성을 조사하였다. 제조된 목재펠릿의 함수율, 발열량, 회분, 겉보기밀도, 내구성, 원소분석을 측정하여 비교하였다. 소나무와 리기다소나무 목재펠릿의 원소분석의 결과, 소나무는 61.42% (C), 수소 5.56% (H), 산소 32.87% (O) 그리고 0.15% (N)로 나타났으며, 리기다소나무는 61.03% (C), 수소 5.96% (H), 산소 32.83% (O) 그리고 0.18% (N)로 나타나 두 수종 간에 거의 차이가 없었다. 각 시료의 발열량은 약 19 MJ/kg로서 품질규격 1급((
