Editors Note: The findings set forth in the previous article indicate a profound change in what students are given to learn in the American university and the way that knowledge is packaged. The study by the National Association of Scholars neither attempts to supply reasons for the relaxation it identified in the systematic approach to education, nor does it necessarily make any judgment about the wider consequences of the trend. Such inferences are for others to draw and, to that end, Academic Questions presents this interpretation of the studys results, followed by the opposing views of Nelson W. Polsby.
