Schlierenbilder von verschiedenartig polarisierten quecksilbertropfenelektroden

Hans Triebel; Hermann Berg

Photopolarographic aspects in photodynamic effects

Hermann Berg

Abstract After the description of some important results of photopolarography and photodynamics the following three relations were emphasized: (1) If the photodynamic oxidation proceeds in the way it is possible to estimate the reduction potentials of 3F (triplet state) and of (oxidized radical) by the dependence of k1 on the oxidation potentials E of several DH: The direct determination of E3F is possible with illuminated semiconductor electrodes only. is measurable by solid electrodes in the dark. (2) In some cases it is possible to follow radical reactions down to the millisecond range. (3) Some faster reactions perturbing the redox system FH2 F + 2e− + 2H+ may be measured by means of photokinetic currents.
