Abstract 1,6-Diazaphenalene and its derivatives containing methyl, bromo, chloro, phenyl, and 2-pyridyl substituents form charge-transfer complexes with TCNQ. Relatively highly electrical conductive complexes (0.1 Scm −1 ) with small activation energy around 0.05 eV was obtained.

Abstract The synthetic procedure of DDQ analogs with centrosymmetry, 2,5-dichloro-, and 2,5-dibromo-3,6- dicyano-1,4-benzoquinone (CDDQ and CBDQ) was improved. These compounds showed strong electron acceptor properties like DDQ and gave semiconducting charge-transfer complexes with TTF derivatives. Crystal structures of CDDQ and perylene-CDDQ were also reported.

Abstract The reactions of 4,5-dehydrotropone ( 1 ) with several 1-morpholino-1-cycloalkenes, the first examples of [2+2]cycloaddition reactions of 1 , are described and some spectral characteristics of [2+2]cycloadducts obtained are discussed.
